Did nobody get up for Grand Ole Party?

So reading through the thread of who people saw, I noticed that nobody got up sunday to go catch GOP. Now before COACHELLA 2008 I had no idea who these cats were but they have become by far my new favorite band. They absolutly rocked the outdoor stage early sunday afternoon and I was front and center. SO i guess this thread is for anyone to fill me in on their opinion of what they thought..........

I'm pissed that I didn't catch them. But I went with a group and none of them wanted to leave the hotel until later. Definitely camping next year though.

I love this band. I bought a t-shirt (wearing it now). Every hour on Saturday had something great going on. GOP's gonna be the kick-yourself-later-for-not-having-seen-them-at-Coachella band of 2008.

from the videos i had seen, i wish i had been able to make them, but early on sunday is tough, i couldn't go because my feet were covered in blisters and i needed new shoes...

they are DEFINITELY worth watching. i've seen them before and i highly recommend them to anyone who missed them at Coachella.

I saw about a third of their set since I already saw them (MUUUUUUUUCH closer, and got the setlist) in Santa Cruz a few months ago. Kristin, as always, was fucking smoking, and the crowd, more or less, was loving it. I was able to weave through the crowd to get a good spot fairly easily and it was just a good time all around.

Good to know...I'll be seeing them in Pemberton and was wondering how their show was going to be. They were lower on my list of must-sees but I am now reconsidering making them more of a priority.

Im posting here temporarily to clear up this angel like reputation of Benjamin Muller. He was nothing more than a piece of shit spoiled arrogant ****** fucking asshole who was accused of RAPE 3 TIMES but because he was from the richest family in town he never got any kind of trouble. In any case, I missed GOP because my weekend was catching up with me and I was unable to leave my hotel room until after their set but let me say this...I am not a huge fan of bands with female singers...I don't know why but if you were to look at my rather large collection of music you too would notice this fact. And I think GOP ROCKS! I am sorry I missed them...and Austin TV too. But that's the way it went. At least I live in LA so I will have to opportunity to see them locally soon I am sure.

Oh yeah, I totally heard Karen O in her when I first starting getting into a few songs off their album. Not a bad comparison for a female singer in this day and age IMO.
Anyone who had to double-up on the mic/drums for rockband could amateurishly feel for this woman I would think lol.

Sorry you guys have the V-Fest cancelled...I was thinking of going to the Calgary one but it the line-up leaves much to be desired...and I have a wedding in B.C. that weekend, so I'm not too put-out by it.

I always thought her voice sounds like a throwback, almost like a Mae West thing going on. Funny 'cause her speaking voice is very baby-like.
