Post Coachella Depression

I have to echo those sentiments and say it kills to me know that there's a Coachella going on and I'm not there. Earlier this year the thought of going twice would have sounded crazy to me, but I'm seriously considering it for next year. One weekend to party with friends and the next to soak in anything I may have missed.

I'm struggling with the fact that there is a Coachella happening as we speak, and I'm not there, even though I went last week and the past 9 years, I still wish I could've afford the extra weekend .

i mean, i understand that it's impractical for me for all sorts of reasons, and i understand that the value-add of a second weekend is less than the value of one weekend, and i understand that i'd rather miss weekend 2 than miss weekend 1, and i still really wish i were there.

This exactly. I've been avoiding reading the board all week but now that there is another Coachella going on that I'm not at, it's sucking bigtime. When you look forward to something for 11 months and then it's finally over the melancholy feeling is setting in. I had an absolute blast last weekend partying with friends in the campground, meeting lots of cool new people, and checking out a majority of the bands I wanted to see. But I echo the sentiment that it would be great to go again this weekend, turn down the partying a couple notches, and check out and soak in all that I missed during Weekend 1.

Going to the St. Vincent/TuneYards show this week kinda helped, so I guess my advice is keep getting your live music fix and look forward to the next music festival.

I'm with everyone. This was my 10-year anniversary and I feel like Coachella is two-timin' my ass. And she's just out there on the polo fields raging away without a care in the world. It's actually very weird.

On the other side, what 10 amazing experiences I've had over the years, so it does seem rather silly to bitch. It does make me very happy that I have younger friends who were actually able to go because of the two weekends. Party on

Exactly. Feels like weekend 1 was the test run weekend and an excuse to take their time putting certain things together. W2 gets the "complete" experience. I am definitely gonna have to do 2 weekends next year.

After a week of being back things are starting to look up. I think part of what makes it so bad in the first place is the void that's left after spending three and half months looking forward to something (I usually start to get excited after New Year's), and then suddenly it's gone. After a week of starting to make new plans (meeting with friends, shows to attend, etc.) I'm definitely in better spirits and already looking forward to next year!

yeah there's definitely a void now --having spent the past 4 months obsessively looking forward to coachella i basically dont know what to do with myself now. i'm at least glad weekend 2 is over now & we're all in the same missing-coachella boat. seeing all the photos posted of this past weekend whilst i was sitting at home was rather upsetting.

Coachella is a much happier place than most places in the U.S., and I also met some cool people I probably won't see again-- just part of the experience. Definitely meet some memorable characters, haha
