    Default My favorite mistakes

Among some very well rewarded deviations from my plan were sets by Man Man, and My Morning Jacket.

What truly pisses me off is that I left Kraftwerk early and got to Portishead late for M.I.A.

Anyone else pleasantly surprised or otherwise?
Youth, you son of a bitch, where did you go?

Cafe Tacvba was a pleasant surprise.

    Kraftwerk was not.

i wish i would've stayed for all of the raconteurs instead of leaving halfway through to see aphex twin. the raconteurs were smokin, and aphex was a letdown.

Bonde Do Role = stupidest set of the weekend.

But one of the most enjoyable.

I ended up at I'm From Barcelona out of boredom and was pleasantly surprised. Their songs are too cutesy for me, but they definitely brought the energy and did their best to put on an interactive and entertaining performance.

not "mistakes" but yes, some unexpected deviations that were well-rewarded -- midnight juggernauts, dan deacon, bonde de role, junkie xl (yea, of course i'm familiar w/ him but i HAD intended to be at islands most of that time, but it's cool cuz i still made it in time to catch busdriver do his guest appearance , and the cool "we're the black beastie boys!" kids.

i too was pissed off about leaving kraftwerk early for MIA =\ ... but i still <3 her music so i'm HOPING that we just happened to wander in during the 15ish minutes that really sucked.

    Duffy and My Morning Jacket...

The singer from Duffy (Im not sure if that's her name) was so cute and wonderful and has the voice of a goddess.

I remember totally not enjoying MMJ in '06 but since my group met up at Sean Penn to drop and score our spots for Waters' I got to see MMJ's entire set and by the end I was mesmerized...
I passed the Sean Penn Acid Test with flying colors!

This was the most structured Coachella for me; I only watched sets that I knew I would like, and thus I did not get to discover any new surprises. This is a real testament to how kick ass this lineup was. The set times were so perfectly arranged, that I was able so see almost every single set I wanted to.
