This band doesn't get enough recognition. I'm bumping this because I haven't been able to stop listening to the last EP or album since they dropped.
And they are incredible live.
They are good live. I haven't really got into any of their albums though. Their last two didn't do anything for me and I haven't heard anything before The Getty Address. I haven't listened to them in like a year. I will give them another chance.

--almost, almost, almost the real thing
i have tried many times to listen to this band and i just cant get into them.
Yeah, I've heard it, not for like a year though and as I said before it didn't make a very good impression on me. I was talking about their last two full lengths in my post. I will definitely include it in my relistening though. The way that I heard of these guys was seeing them live. They were awesome. Their live show just didn't translate on their albums. I wish I had my hard drive at work and I could load their discography onto my ipod right now, but alas I will have to wait til I get home.

New Attitude EP is a real change from Rise Above.
They have a track on Dark Was the Night with David Byrne. It's good stuff.
I saw these guys Saturday and they were amazing. I love the Dirty Projectors. tvotr was obviously a let-down after hearing Bitte Orca live.
DIRTY PROJECTORS FOR COACH '10!
Took me a while, but I sort of like their new album....I think it's the guys voice, and how oddly arranged the music is. Really hits u strangely.
keep listening...your 'sort of like' will transform into a LOVE
It's all about Useful Chamber, people. That song is 3 good songs in one great song.
This is a well-timed bump for me, yesterday I just realize how fucking brilliant Bitte Orca is and how not only is it the best album I've yet heard from these guys (still finding my way through their early stuff) but it's also one of the year's best albums, I have it ranked #3 for 09 now. I sorta listened to it before... but somehow I hadn't given it my full attention. It's pretty fascinating and pretty entertaining stuff.
Point being... I really want to go to their Troubadour show now. I can't see them at Bonnaroo but I really think I should go out of my way to catch them live now...
Pancakes, there is no question...you NEED to see them live.
And Still-ill....start with Bitte Orca, just because it is so amazing!
free show in millennium park on 6/22
Lick an orange, it tastes like an orange. Lick a pineapple, it tastes like a pineapple. Go ahead, try it. Try some more. The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries! We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Come along, come along.
Uh... This record's great, but better than Veckatimest?... I'm gonna go with no.
