Can I hear a little love for that fucking epic (but too damn short) performance?

Yup. Amazing, and that tent was INCREDIBLY hot. That shit was so raw that even I got to dance with some chicks.

Hot Chip was by far one of the best acts of 2008! They were HOT! And it was hot in that tent, If Portishead hadn't rattled my soul so much and sent me to Level 32 in my skull, I would have said they were the #1 act, but with so many bands over two days, Hot Chip ruled!

exactly word for word what i thought prior to seeing their set last year at coachella. i actually expected them to be some lame indie group that sang shitty lyrics of blips and beeps. damn i am glad i stayed for their set! i didn't know one of their songs, but i was immediately hooked, as their live show is just too much to handle. i got "the warning" after, and realized that i had stumbled upon one of the best new electronic bands out there, along with lcd soundstyem. so give it a chance and check out some live videos (not talk show videos, even i agree they sound like shit on most of those)

Edit: I meant too much handle as meaning they are so intense live, i can barely hold my head up as it is melting off my skull

what he said. 07 was hell of a lot hotter and tighter. They seemed to be rushing things since they went on late. Still a great time though.

I agree that Hot Chip was amazing. Too me they sounded beyond perfect.

I actually went to the AT&T blue room and watched their set again on the coach because I wanted to confirm how amazed I was.

I thought last year's Hot Chip performance was slightly better. Perhaps locale had something to with it. I mean, I was up in the front last year and this year I was behind the disability ramp lol.

I had never heard of Hot Chip before discovering their name on the line up, and I'm sooo happy that I did a little research before the festival otherwise I might have missed their set! I was initially surprized that they were going to be in the Sahara, I figured they were more of a Mojave band...I thought it they would play one song, then the next, the next, and so on - so I was totally impressed Soooo soooo sooo glad I saw their set! I'd give anything for a soundboard recording!!!!

Yep, I think's it's pretty safe to say that the Brits owned Coachella this year. "Over and Over" was biggest crowd freakout that I witnessed all weekend, but it was their hyper-percussive version of 'Shake A Fist' that was the highlight for me. Alexis Taylor is by far my favorite of the group, but I must admit it seems that Al Doyle gets to have the most fun. It'd be pretty cool to say you're a part of both Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem. Dude's got that shit locked down on both sides of the pond.

they got that place going. It was hot as fuck in there. Totally great performance, I want to see them again. SOrta reminded me of Talking Heads in their prime...but made more danceable

Amazing show. I wouldn't mind them coming back for a third year straight. I really enjoyed One Pure Thought live. It was so hot and steamy in the middle of that pile of people but that made it soo much fun. The closest I got to heat exhaustion. You had to be dead not to shake your ass like crazy to that show.

Oh, and I'll vouch for Passive getting his freak on..I was a couple of people behind him and saw him shaking it with some chicks.....MGMT and Hot Chip, that damn fro kept blocking my view!

These are not in order (well, some of it is), but I think this covers it:

    Shake a Fist
    Boy From School
    Out at the Pictures
    One Pure Thought
    Hold On
    Over and Over
    No Fit State/Temptation
    Ready for the Floor

    Did they play Bendable Poseable?

First time seeing them after a handful of missed opportunities.

The energy in the crowd was off the charts.

I am kind of sad they didn't play "The Warning".. I'm guessing it was too slow for them to play at Coachella.. but I still like the song.

I'm so disappointed i missed Hot Chip! I had to miss them for Death Cab for Cutie though, which I'd say is #1 on my list. Hope Hot Chip's on the lineup next year .. so I can actually catch them this time.

First time I saw them/really heard them and it was awesome, I've never seen so many dudes who look like Neo Nazis dancing so happily and gaily (yes GAILY). Its a huge message when music makes their whole crowd dance like happy little flower people.
