nope...especially if its twizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzted records your talking about
too bad you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.....but thanks for the invaluable input
It would be a nice addition.
I saw Cheb I sabbah and Karsh Kale at San Diego street scene last year and was amazed.
I don't know what it is but Hallucinogen and Shpongle but they rarely make it to the west coast. Shpongle played Camp disco biscuit last year which I thought was pretty interesting. Wish I had made it.
The only time I saw them out here was years and years ago at Burning man with X dream and Goa gil and others.
what is it about people that makes them read something and if they don't agree with the poster or simply don't understand what the other person is talking about, respond with something brilliant such as this?
Maybe you're interested and lack the social skills to properly ask the question......is that possible??
Or maybe, you just want to be a pain in the ass....is that more likely?
maybe these artists aren't your cup of tea....thats fine, fortunately many people around the globe are very familiar with these fine record labels and the talented artists they employ.....
thank you Ardentbiscuit, I'm glad someone is familiar.....I agree, any of these artists would be a fine addition....I'm surprised that none of them have made Coachella so far
I've seen Cheb I Sabbah several times in LA & once in SF, I saw Kale last year at the Getty Museum of all places & Tabla Beat Science at one phenomenal show at Royce Hall at UCLA ..(w/Kale on drums)...amazing!!
Shpongle is one of my absolute favorites, but you're right, none of the other groups mentioned make it to the US much at all.......I'll keep hoping for some soon!!!
They book artist from six degrees on ocassion. Look at the past lineups.
I heard Shpongle wasn't even really doing anything anymore, which would be a major shame.
I would have loved to see the Disco Biscuits and Shpongle at the same show.
I've been every day of Coachella except for the Tool/Rage day in '99......and I couldn't remember any off the top of my head......I'll have to check into the past lineups to see what I may have missed...(or don't quite remember)!
thanks I'll look into it....I would just like to see a little again one of these years for some added diversity
Shpongle still does random sets, but mostly internationally.....its extremely rare to see them do anything in the US......
although I believe they played last year in SF on the eve of Coachella '06.....but unfortunately, I was gonna already be out in INDIO
my eyes and ears are always open though, as they are unbelievable
its cool Kreutz2112 ........I was just offended that you thought I may be requesting twizzzzzted records!!! isn't that somehow related to Insane Clown Posse or something like that??? ......makes me ill!!!!
I would have to look back at the schedules but I don't recall seeing any 6 degrees artists at Coachella. But they probably did play, there is just so much going on it's hard to know everything that is playing when you are there.
Speaking of twisted, I saw Ian Ion of Koxbox DJ at Sky Sushi (now gone) in Hollywood. That was completely random. I remember in the other room there were a bunch of guys watching Monday night football while he was Dj ing.
Yes, I sir, am a douche bag. However, some good has come out of this. I wikipedia'ed a few of those bands and realized that there is potential for me too like them. I will check them out and report back.
yeah, as far as six degrees goes, cibelle would fit in perfectly. i dont think theyve had any six degrees artists before.
I think from 6 degrees either Banco de Gaia or Bombay Dub Orchestra would be pretty cool.
The what in holy hell comment refers to the fact that your post looks as if your speaking in tounges. What sort of music do these guys do? Schpongle? Is that the band?
...and, get off your high horse. We all just josh around on this board. Everyone seems to get really offended by everything here.
sorry BMACK86, my horse generally tends to be pretty high, he's quite the stoner
I'm used to communicating with people who don't jump on your ass about things if they're unfamiliar with something, so forgive me if I reacted too strongly to your comment
yes, Sphongle is the name of the group.....they're based in electronic music, but contain a wide array of multi cultural influences with instrumentation and vocal influences spanning the globe......not very danceable, very interesting music, check them out sometime
I would be happy to see either of those, good call....
last summer, at the Getty Museum in LA, Bombay Dub Orchestra were supposed to play what I thought was supposed to be their first ever US performance (I could be wrong) but unfortunately, they had to cancel a few days before.....luckily Karsh Kale stepped in to fill in and his band gave a great performance to alleviate any previous disappointment
they played probably about 3 years ago....it was an incredible show
I wish man! I'll be at the sts9 after show in LA for sure.
/\ did my original post have anything to do with turning you on to Shpongle?? I genuinely hope so!! That's awesome....pretty incredible artists

it did. In fact my investigation of twisted records exposed me to the whole scene of ambient music. Carbon Based Lifeforms are sick as shit.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Either Banco De Gaia playing "Big Men Cry" in full or Sphongle doing "Tales of the Inexpressible", both stellar albums.
