Saturday is looking good, Id get a single day ticket for that.
They'd have jets doing flybys and it would be awesome.
I went to the '07 Yuri's Night and it was held at the NASA AMES facility in Mt. View. There were even Federal Police acting as security in the venue (they were cool), it was in a hangar and there were jets that you could walk up to.

Last year was so rad. This year is going to be so much better.
Im stoked, it's like a Coachella replay
This is a cool line up..I can't figure out which one I like better, this or Monolith.
I want to go to one but not both.
As for carpooling from LA, try Southwest airlines. I got tickets 53 each way for the Outsidelands and they weren't at 6 or 7 am amazingly.
BART doesn't run extremely late, so that'd be a concern, but I've bussed around San Francisco at night and there hasn't ever been a problem. I took the bus from Slim's to the Mission district where I had parked at around 3 AM, so they'll still be running. I'd say look at a schedule online.
for the price and location, its a perfect setting and has good up and coming bands so im there....
still Justice headlining = WEAK
.
Good to know. But I'm still looking at almost $400 to attend after airfare and hostel. I really want to see Raconteurs, Justice, Goldfrapp, CSS, Okkervil River, Spiritualized, TVOTR, but a lot of these acts will be in LA shortly after (conflicting, naturally). But on the other hand, it looks like an awesome location for a festival. So I dunno. If it weren't for airfare, I'd definitely go. Or if someone rare and awesome gets added.
presale starts tomorrow. password = sunset

I think at least one day did sell out eventually last year, didn't it? Not sure.

I still deciding if I'm gonna go, I need my friend to say he's down, then I'll go, otherwise I might just go for one day
garrett her name is Kristin Kreuk.
been catching up on this thread...
I'm very excited for this, definitely going both days. last year I went only day one, and regret not going both days.
is there any word yet on whether the independent will be selling tickets without service charge? last year they did that, but they didn't announce it for a while -- until a week after I had bought my ticket from ticketmaster, it turns out.
also very interested to see additions. "the total number of performers will be 28 over the two-day event", the initial announcement said. that's a few more than last year -- will they be starting earlier, I wonder?
to answer my own question -- the treasure island web page now says the following:
I'm not sure if that was always there and I missed it, or if that is new. it's only really an advantage if you are just going for a single day though.Single Day tickets are available for purchase at The Independent box office located at 628 Divisadero St, SF.
Box office hours are 11 AM - 6 PM, Monday thru Friday. The box office is also open on show nights.
Available as a cash only purchase with a $2.00 service charge
buying for both days from the independent:
single day ticket $65 x 2
service charge $2 x 2
total: $134
buying for both days from ticketmaster:
two day ticket $115 x1
service charge $17.70 x1
order processing $4.40 x1
total: $137.10
so you'd save $3 by going to the box office. if you're only attending one day, go for it, but I just ordered my two day pass. :-)

Well that kind of sucks, you couldve bought em at an outlet and saved another 5 I imagine and not have to wait to get them in the mail. But yeah, why only sell singles at the Independant?
