Thread: Day shows/Night shows

    Default Day shows/Night shows

Do you have a preference? Or maybe you prefer the happy medium of a sunset show. Last year I saw some great acts in the daytime, but once the sun had set, Coachella had a whole different vibe to it, and I liked the shows so much more. Granted, most of my favorite acts were playing at night, and my skin wasn't getting burned from the scorching sun.

night shows for sure... but there were a few shows last year like Silversun Pickups, the Nightwatchman were fine in the sun, and i dont really need to see those at night time....

sunset time slots are a high honor to get! Favorite time of day is dusk and that goes for coachella 100 fold.

Temp cools, energy of people begins to rise, you look around at that amazing sunset...notice around you the lights become brighter and brighter and then...night time! Im shaking with joy right now!

Sunset is definitely the best, most magical time of the day for music.

Day sets are fun, because its different, but definitely night sets are where its at.

Fuck it, i love all of them. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOACHELLA!!!!!!!

Day shows are usually where I discover new bands, and night shows are where I see my favorites. Different vibe, both are fun.

Absolutely. Generally I spend the days at the Outdoor Theatre, Gobi, and Mojave tents, and my nights are almost exclusively in the Sahara and Main Stage.

The Sahara depresses me during the daytime.

the difference between night and day is one of the great aspects of the festival. The place feels totally different. I remember my first Coachella feeling everything begin to slowly change as the sun set. I stepped out of a tent when the sun finally went down and it was like entering a whole new festival. Like Dorthy stepping out of the tornado into OZ.

it's a great feeling when that sun sets
Then I will hold you down and spit her percolations all over you until you're as greasy as the day she regrets pushing your big fat ass out her big fat cunt.

Days sets are too hot and draining, thats why I love dusk sets...you know I dont spend much time at the outdoor theater but its a nice little corner of the fest. I dont think Ive seen a bad set there.

I have never understood the fuss about the "sunset" slot.

I really like the first shows of the day because you can get relatively close without being packed in.

Mid-afternoon is very fun too, a very chill time for a set.

The very late sets are something special, too. You feel dead but bam the music keeps going.

Concur. They need to be the end of the heat - that point when the heat may just drive you crazy. Then some great Rilo Kiley at sunset would be a sweet transition to night.
Coachella is a place beyond conventional geography, a time not measured in hours or minutes, an experience, a state of mind, an attitude, and a holy form of expression. The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is an annual festival put on by Goldenvoice in Indio, CA. Please don't confuse the two.

I love sunset, because it's beautiful, and much cooler, but still light enough to guide yourself through the grounds.
