Prince asks for 2.4 million pounds to do Coachella

Prince is top of the tree of pop's bourgeoisie so it comes as little surprise the star is breaking new ground in diva-ish appearance fee demands.

The purple prancer has reportedly demanded the princely price of £2.4 million for a one off festival appearance in the US.

Organisers reportedly called upon his repertoire as a last minute addition to help bolster flagging ticket sales at this month's Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs in California.


An insider revealed: 'Prince was a late late addition to the line-up'. 'The promoters added him to try and sell more tickets and make up for a less than stellar - in comparison to years past - roster of performers' adds the insider.

One insider told perezhilton.com the star was paid 'close to $4 million'.

While another insider said: 'The exact amount Prince is getting paid for his Coachella performance is $4.8 million.'

The Verve, Portishead and Mark Ronson are among a clutch of British acts who will join him in two weeks time.

Prince is basically a 1/3 of that then.. Of course, that Potential doesn't figure in Sponsors and Vendors.. but no matter how you take it... they paid a HUGE amount of money for Prince.

If they were, why would you dump $4.8M into one act? At best, Prince gets another 20K people there for Saturday. That equals about $1.7 million extra at the gate for that day.

Indeed, and all the other posts and articles I saw didn't list the paycheck in English pounds. You do realize this is America, right? Couldn't you have quoted an article that listed the rumored sum in American $$$$$$. That disgusting (American) fuck Perez Hilton was the one who started this rumor. $4.8 million is what I heard.
