But I don't get all the jokes about his music being "bro" music. Somebody...explain the "bro" factor of Jack Johnson, and the negative connotation to the word "bro."

In Hawaii, where JJ is from, its "Brah." Most other places on the mainland its "Bro," but in Huntington Beach it could be "Brah" too.

JJ is a cool, mellow, island-style kinda guy. I don't get into his music, but I have nothing personal against him. Is he headliner material? Nope, not in my opinion. I still scratch my head over that one. Yet I see him headlining other festivals as well. There's so much I just don't get. For example Dane Cook. Explain that one to me.

I still think this is all a joke and Paul T. is going to announce the "real" headliner for Friday any day now. Anyway, I figure that's the real reason everyone here pisses on JJ.

i'm from the valley, Fresno to be exact, where many of the bros reside. and yes, many of the bros travel to pismo EVERY weekend with their lifted trucked and energy drinks and head to the dunes. i get invited sometimes by friends who are semi-bros, but i always refuse. that place is bro central, i think my head would explode.
