2008 COACHELLA WEATHER UPDATES!

well, looking at the monthly forecasts and other sites, right now it seems like its a bit cooler than years past. last year obviously was africa hot!! this year the week of, they are expecting temps in the high 80's low 90's.

Yeah i saw this too. Add the factor of 50,000+ people crammed up in a Polo field and that should raise the temp around 10° more.

As a born and bred New Yorker who busts out shorts when the temperature hits the high 50's, I must say this news pleases me. 80's-90's is far more reasonable than I was anticipating.

beat me to the punch. I was gonna post a weather update. The forcast so far sounds good, I was in death valley this past weekend and it was cool out. Its been cool in Los Angeles as well.

Just dont let this fool you, seems every year I see coachella weekend predicted in the 80s, then hi 80s, then 90s, then hi 90s. The predictions get hotter as we approach for some reason. The weekends before and after are wonderful though, typical.

I dont know about those temps, 77 in 2006? I seem to remember predictions like that but a spike in temp during the day into the 90s. I dont remember it being that low and I remember the year of 2004 the newspaper reporting 112.

2005 did have low temp though, I remember it was such a relief coming off of 2004 temps. 2007 looks right too.

quicksand, u r fucking nuts! the festival was on the 27-29th last year and it was fucking hot. but i always get pumped up when we get to the point where we can see the weather forecast for the days we are all going.. and true, last year at one point they were thinking possible rain but that was like 2 weeks away from the actual date so it changed the next day. im just ready to go! 2 1/2 weeks away!

I was wearing shorts last year. I would have died if I wore pants. I also told myself I would wear a shirt all 3 days, because people who walk around without shirts look like idiots and/or are trying to show off their body. I didn't wear a shirt till around 8pm (at the earliest) last year.

Um duh. Why would you pull historical data from Coachella dates rather than the actual dates? Coachella falls at different times in the month.

Man it was BRUTAL.

Personally I like the oppressive heat.

Yeah... 2004 was just awful. My friend got heat-stroke. The worst part was the Horrible Choice during the day:

Option A: stay out of the tents, and suffer the full wrath of the Angry Dayball
Option B: go in the tents, so no more direct sun, but massive, stinking humidity from everyone's sweat.

02 and 03 were fine, 05 was *beautiful*, 06 was pretty good, 07 was pretty hot, but nothing like 04.
