Yes, Radiohead sold out in 10 minutes. But I hear they're crazy about KOL and Arctic Monkeys over there too.

the united states is plauged with the illness of KROQ so we get real tired of pathetic music quickly
Remember when people across the pond had better taste than Americans as a whole?
Go to efestivals forum, people are whining that the Glasto headliners suck (Blur reunion, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, for the record).

kings of leon are considered like a u.s version of Oasis and they have connected with the u.k big time!! they are massive over there.. its starting to happen for them here.. i would not be surprised if they headline a night at coachella next year.. they are a good band. i dont think they are great though.....
and the u.s.a. had plenty of crap here too. it evens out!![]()
I don't understand the KOL thing either, but yes, they sell like fuck.
And yeah, Reading is notoriously unforgiving. Bands get booed and bottled as a matter of course.
Panic at the Disco:While the mass-participation can and bottle fights of the 1970s and 1980s have long since ended, the Reading Festival 'tradition' of unpopular bands being bottled off (being forced off stage by a barrage of audience-thrown plastic bottles and cans) has continued throughout its history.[27]
The 1983 reggae act Steel Pulse suffered possibly the most vicious bottling-off ever seen at the Festival, before or since, disappearing within moments of appearing on stage under an avalanche of missiles launched by the temporarily united ranks of punks and rockers waiting to see The Stranglers.
In 1988 Bonnie Tyler bravely completed her set despite an unending barrage of bottles, turf and litter. Unfortunately, the day's headliner Meat Loaf was not so brave, retreating ingloriously only 20 minutes into his set after taking a 2-litre cider bottle full in the face.[28]
In 2000, Daphne and Celeste were inexplicably scheduled between Slipknot and Rage Against The Machine after bullying their manager to get on the bill,[29] and were bottled off after 2 songs.[30]
In 2005, it was the turn of rapper 50 Cent, who was pelted with bottles.[31] 50 Cent lasted nearly 20 minutes before finally throwing his microphone into the crowd in anger. The Rasmus were also bottled off following one song.[32]
In 2006 at Reading, Panic at the Disco lead singer Brendon Urie was struck in the face with a plastic bottle, knocking him unconscious and forcing the band to stop mid-song. Urie received treatment from his road crew for several minutes, then the band continued from the point at which their song was interrupted.[33] Later the same day, and again on the main stage Fall Out Boy incited a bottle fight in the crowd, making reference to the earlier event. Despite this, Panic at the Disco still returned the next year.
In 2008, a crowd of approximately 3,000 people attended the BBC Introducing Stage to see unsigned band 'The FF'ers', after rumours that it would actually be a secret Foo Fighters gig were spread around the festival. The FF'ers were subsequently bottled when members of the audience realised that the rumours were not true. The subsequent band was also bottled off stage due to the crowd's disappointment. Also in 2008, screamo band Bring Me The Horizon were called in to play in the place of Avenged Sevenfold, who were unable to play due to "vocal strain". They were pelted with bottles by angry Avenged Sevenfold fans.
It must be stated for the record that Brendon Urie made a better effort to continue than Meatloaf or many others did, and deserves credit for that if nothing else.
There are a lot of festivals here. Some of them have to be shite. It's normally a toss up between Reading and V for the worst - and they sell out the fastest too. I've not touched Reading since the days that Nirvana and Pulp were still playing there.
I'll stick to Coachella and Primavera (and Latitude and Pukkelpop and possibly Oya)
Hahaha, Bonnie Tyler

Ah yes. Tampongate. They don't make 'em like that anymore, thank Christ.
L7, didn't they play The Word with their pants down?
I miss The Word. It was filmed very close to where i used to live, and i was in the studio audience on numerous occasions. Although the show was trash, the bands i got to see were ace. Shaun Ryder and Zippy sharing a stage was even better than Nirvana.
So it looks like Faith No More are playing Reading and Leeds. Reading on Friday and Leeds on Sunday.
Too temptimg Josh, Radiohead and FNM in one weekend, I am sure its killing you.
Actually, Radiohead and FNM are really the only 2 bands at Reading/Leeds I would care about seeing.
If I was heading to Europe for FNM, I would probably hit up Rock En Seine. Faith No More, Madness and The Prodigy all in the same weekend.
