As much as I love NIN, it does feel too soon. To make as big a deal as he did about the band ending or going on hiatus or whatever, just to bring it back in four years is dumb. But, I mean, I'm stoked I can see them live now.

i think the only way he could do right is to piss off the old fans that want to hear "head like a hole" live for the 500th time.

...which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be...

i'd hope that means he plans on doing some serious re-invention. if he comes back just to do the same old sets with a new live band then yea, that would be kinda lame, been there done that, nothing new. if he brings a new band and just does weird shit like play songs they never used to play live and/or weird soundscapes and the like, THAT would be interesting. probably not profitable and it would probably alienate much of his old fanbase but fuck it.

Did you go to any of the Farewell tour dates? The 2 nights at the Aragon were the best NIN shows I have ever seen.

What the fuck Randy? That was the worst sound I've ever heard for a NIN show. It felt so muted. I was very happy they did their last leg of shows in LA, the NINJA tour would have been a terrible way for NIN to go out.

I don't think NIN will perform The Downward Spiral in its entirety for a very long time, if not ever again. I was fortunate to see The Fragile tour and that is still my favorite out of all of the ones I have seen.

In other news, I'm very happy to see HTDA tickets were under $50 with fees.

I went to only one NIN farewell show and saw the Downward Spiral from start to finish. I guess I lucked out But for sure the Fragile tour was the best NIN show I've seen before that show. I only wish I was old enough to see this performance. Still amazing after all these years...

And I saw NIN at Bonnaroo, which was supposed to be the last show ever. I would like to see new music, and I don't care a whole lot about this side project, but the timing is indeed messed up.
