Trent Reznor on 40 unreleased demos, NZ tour, Gone Girl, Grammys

    http://www.3news.co.nz/Trent-Reznor-...0/Default.aspx

After this tour - I am wondering what other projects you are waiting to get your teeth sunk into. I know there was talk of a The Fragile re-issue at some point - is that still on the cards?

Yeah, we've done a lot of the work for that. Really what it's come down to is with all the other stuff going on, the Fragile thing in particular, I want to make sure I get it right. You know, we've mixed everything in surround, it sounds amazing, we have a great package ready to go. I just stumbled across 40-or-so demos that are from that era that didn't turn into songs, that range from sound effects to full-fledge pieces of music, and I kind of feel like - something should happen with that.

And I think it has something to do with that package, and I just need the bandwidth to kind of calmly think about it, and decide how much effort I want to devote into that and what to do with it. I have a lot of ideas that could eat up immense amounts of time and I'm trying to weigh out - just think it through. I don't want to pull the trigger on something and go, 'Man, I should have done it in this way.' And I just haven't had a chance to be in a calm place where I can think it through completely and make that decision.

Wow, Japan night 2 looks almost exactly like a Lights in the Sky set, only now with Trent's wife getting involved with the band. I feel like I'm kind of getting over NIN. It's starting to feel like more of the same. Meh. =/

Oh dear god please let this "package" include a vinyl edition. I've wanted The Fragile on wax for so so long. Can't bring myself to pay the prices original presses go for although its entirely worth it.

You know there is a difference when you play in a venue that only holds a few thousand and an arena, right?

Bands are switching what time they go on. NIN was 2nd, while QOTSA was last.

What about his pointing out that smaller production makes it possible to have more variety in set lists lead you to have this response? it literally has nothing to do with what he said.

That possibility hasnt come up yet if you look at what they did in those 3 shows, and in comparison to the one in Australia. So at this point, however ''stripped down'' it might seem, Trent is still going to play the same songs every night for better or worse.

On another note, it looks like the summer tour is going to get announced sooner than later. Soundgarden looks to be the opening band. Onsales might be next week.

Both acts are basically giving away the venues they are playing.

NIN: San Fran, Vegas, Texas and I think the observatory in LA are show in their teaser.

Soundgarden: Jones Beach, Red Rocks, Florida(ask Gary?), DTS Detroit, Shoreline?, Toronto Molson, Saratoga SPAC, Xfinity/Mansfield, Houston, Irvine and Austin 360.

It's The Hollywood Bowl. And yeah, theres already a giant list of everything that was made before that story was even written. Since as usual, they let somebody else do the work and make it seem like it was their idea.

I just wish there was something in the northwest. Will they reveal that it's not Matt Cameron playing after they put the tickets onsale?

Are NIN done their 2013-2014 touring cycle after this round of dates?

4 months on they haven't announced the replacement.

Reading the statement from November again, Matt said he'd be at home even if Pearl Jam was on a break and SG were touring in 2014.
