Left off Radiohead for The Mars Volta, huh? Where's the option to vote that you get AIDS?
seeing the stooges on the dvd makes me wish i were there. fisherspooner is a very close second.
I'm a loner Dottie, a rebel.
Bjork...
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
It's easily Arcade Fire, even setting the music aside. Perfect sunset filming, ridiculous energy on stage, crowd going fucking apeshit. I saw that when I still didn't like Arcade Fire yet, but that performance WAS Coachella to me.
It's not just the performance at all. Sunset is easily the definitive time of Coach, and the crowd shots from the Outdoor give you the best view of the polo fields. It just captures best.
Bjork performance does it for me. Radiohead and Arcade Fire are right there too, but Bjork's "All Is Full of Love" is just fucking magical. I have never heard any of his other stuff, but the Fisherspooner performance is pretty fun to watch on the DVD.
AF, i skip the part with the stooges. man do i hate iggy.
Love the Fischerspooner set, comes as such a surprise when you're watching him getting ready backstage and just thinking, "wow... this is gonna be SUPER gay." And then he comes out and he's kinda just badass gay.
The awesomeness of the Radiohead clip to me is the way Thom looks over and just says, "Your choice." They didn't have to plan or anything, and the man just decides, "Fucking Planet Telex--let's get sonic up in this bitch."
From what I understand he was playing the opening notes for "Let Down" and Thom told him your choice. I think I read that "Let Down" was on the set list, I could be wrong. "Let Down" would have been fucking amazing.
Bjork wins any contest that she is involved in.

Last night I was dancing with my daughter to the Polyphonic Spree in our great room - again.
That's her favorite, so it's my vote too.
Flaming Lips should have been included in this...very entertaining and memorable.

It's Fischerspooner for me. I hadn't even hear of him till I saw the DVD. I love that he talks about standing in the right spot at the beginning, and then totally being off at the performance (either that or the spotlight person was off). Plus, you can't go wrong with breakaway pantaloons.
Yeah really, Belle and Sebastian weren't just soft, they were fucking duller than shit. Why not throw in something from Air's good set instead?
It's a mystery how that "Planet Telex" performance isn't a choice. I'd like to have seen what would win in a battle btwn that, "All is Full of Love," and "Rebellion." I ended up voting for Arcade Fire, because yeah, in the spirit of Coachella, what captures it better than a beautiful sunset and a raucous crowd?
Did anyone else think the electronica portion was shorted out and lame? It interviewed some lame ravers and that was basically it..
