Will Roger Waters play to a silent Coachella?

I noticed that Sunday's lineup is short compared to the other days. I also read some stuff about this new quadraphonic surround sound system Waters has been using. Coupled with the comments at the press conference that they will be "pulling out all the stops" for Water's performance, does anyone here think Roger will go on unopposed to a silent Coachella? Does anyone remember this ever happening at Coachella before with previous acts?

No, it hasn't happened, and yes, that's the opinion of quite a few of us.

Though I think the Sahara will be open with maybe a lower level DJ spinning. There are a lot of people that just go to be in the Sahara. But I don't forsee another situation like last year with poor Evan Dando playing to a couple hundred people while Rage was on.

I figured that they'd want to have a whole mood thing going on. But like Sparks said, I don't think there will be the overwhelming bass coming out of Sahara. I was thinking that Sahara might be tuned so low that maybe, for the first time, you won't be able to hear Sahara clear across the county.

Did anybody else see/hear that guy who after every song yelled:
"MOOOOGWAAAIIIII!!! YEEAAAHHH!!"

It was hilarious. He was standing near us with his buddy and everyone around us just laughed everytime he did it. That guy ruled.

EDIT: It was even funnier because we were pretty far from the stage kinda near the "back". But that dude was just loving it.

Well...the Madonna thing was kind of a big deal. I was surprised she wasn't on the main stage. I don't know if anyone remembers, but during her set you couldn't get anywhere close to Sahara. The whole festival was there. If they would have had someone playing main at that time no one would have been there anyway.

I'm thinking that the entire festival will be dead silent for Water's set. Too many indicators make it seem obvious. I bet he plays 9:30 or 10:00 to midnight with nothing to disturb him. I also have a feeling that the presentation will be so big that they'll need the space anyway...

yeah, that's what i'm talking about. i just remember there was not alot really going on. AND technically the Mojave was dark during her set...considering she didn't get onstage until 8:30.

This is going to be on a GRAND scale, i would be surprised if there are a TON of freak-outs in the audience. Waters cant wait to hack the fuck out of all of your souls.

There aren't that many acts I really care to see on Sunday, but the expense of seeing Roger Waters at another venue is equal or greater than the cost of a Sunday ticket, so if I get to see him, Metric, and a few others, it would be a bargain.

I really hope I can score some good drugs that day.
