    Default Late night thread

Sorry bored and the board has been incredibly boring so here's a late night thread (at least for the midwest) where one can discuss things about the late night.

I was watching the magic bullet (food processor, not vibrator) infomercial and that seems like a very handy tool. It can make salsa and smoothies in under three pushes.

i have been looking at body modifications on bme for hours now....hmmm...it was sort of an accident. but then i was intrigued-->disturbed-->further intrigued.

apparently you can stretch your anus to 15" or more. also you can gauge your scrotum.

Let's just say that this fedora is made for a 14" cranium, so you do the math of how he stretched out all those 15" anuses...

i don't know about that. but apparently this is what happens when you divide by zero. http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Image:Inversion-1.jpg

In one of my high school math classes on a rare day I was awake we were doing something involving an algebra problem that required cross-multiplication to solve and I decided that I'd found the answer to dividing by zero in it. Forget what the problem was or what my bullshit explanation consisted of--it was undoubtedly just a conveniently formed equation that I used to fuzzy-logic into evidence that a basic mathematical fact was untrue, purely to irritate the shit out of the teacher.

But the basic upshot I claimed to have proven that day was that since "zero" is not a true number but rather just an interval of reference to mark the non-existent state of having no value whatsoever, x/0 is no more of an impossible function than 0/x is, and in both cases the result will always be the same null integer regardless of "x." Somehow the proof on the board supported my horseshit, or at least I manipulated it to support the horseshit, and managed to convince half the class to get behind me and make my teacher fucking miserable for the next half hour. It was fun.

Recently I saw this pop up in the news. It's been heavily derided by the mathematical cognoscenti, but I maintain this dude is basically onto something if for no other reason than all arbitrary impossibilities deemed impossible because standard math functions don't work with it MUST be a crock of shit.

Dude proves you can divide by zero: http://www.bbc.co.uk/berkshire/conte..._feature.shtml
