    RIP. Talented Mr. Ripley is one of my favorite filmes


    FROM BBC) - British film director Anthony Minghella (Truly Madly Deeply; The English Patient; Cold Mountain) has died at the age of 54 after suffering a brain hemmorhage, a spokesperson has confirmed. No other details were immediately available. Minghella won an Oscar in 1996 for directing the The English Patient, and he received an Oscar nod for writing the screenplay for 1999's The Talented Mr. Ripley. He was recently in Botswana shooting an adaptation of the Alexander McCall Smith novel The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. (The BBC)

    The freaky thing about this for me is that I just watched The Talented Mr. Ripley on Sunday night, with Mr. Minghella's commentary on. Such a gorgeous film that was. Too bad.
