Timely manner. It's not mandatory, but the stories do somewhat overlap, especially in the first two. I watched all three in the course of 4 nights I think, but I'm sure taking a week to get through them wouldn't be a big deal.

Alright will do. Looking forward to them based off the premise I've read and the pretty universal praise!
All you guys who are raving about The Three Colors have seen The Double Life of Veronique, right? Good.
Still holding out hope that Criterion has secured rights to the Decalogue now that it has seemingly gone out of print with those abortionists at Facets.
I went to the Napoleon film production in Oakland on Sunday. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!. Worth every cent of the $110 admission price. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend it if the San Francisco Silent Film Festival does this again with Carl Davis and an entire orchestra. There was a five minute standing ovation at the end of the movie.

Wonderfully descriptive.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT

He didn't even create a new voice for the bear it's just a more Boston Peter Griffin.
I haven't been here in a long while, and I was just skimming, so I'm not sure I get the gist of what you were looking for, but have you seen Two Days in Paris? A very unromantic romcom. I loved it.
Also, has anyone seen Lord Byron? The only film I've ever walked out on. I'm kind of curious if there was anything redeemable towards the end.
Where've you been dax?![]()

Yeah, the Brakhage definitely needs to be watched in segments or your going to go a little crazy. I'm a big fan of the Persians section on the second blu-ray. And I'll give School props one more time to turning me on to Brakhage back when we were having Tree of Life convos.
I remember watching White with my wife on our first date in college 16 years ago. I guess I was trying to pull of the sophisticated vibe back in the day.
I gave Noir his first Brakhage and was rather blown away by it. This was also my first experience with purely experimental/avant-garde film making. For a novice, it was rather bizarre and took some settling into. AND, if you get motion sickness, don't drink before watching them, especially when viewing the scratched images onto the reel itself.
BELA TARR AT CINEFAMILY OFFICIAL!

The Turin Horse getting a week long run is huge. There are a few conflicts on Coachella weekends, but it's not any of the major stuff so I doubt this'll be a problem for anyone.
Sounds like Satantango hasn't been announced yet, but has been confirmed to be sometime in May.
A special delivery has just arrived. Ladies and gentlemen—we give you all 26 reels of Béla Tarr's SÁTÁNTANGÓ!![]()

Drinking and experimental film don't mix under any circumstance.
Epic, but you couldn't fucking pay me to sit in the regular seats there for 7 and half hours!! COUCHES OR BUST.
My sentiments exactly. Even 3 hours for that Zulawski screening a few weeks ago was a tremendous endurance test.

Except for Mike Kuchar.
... speaking of trilogies, watched Deep Mehta's Water, the last film in her Earth, Fire, Water elements trilogy. I love this collection of rather lyrical films. Water is especially sorrowful and contemplative. The script isn't perfect, but I love how Mehta married some of the excesses of Hindi cinema melodrama with the restraint of some of the best Indian parallel cinema. I can't wait to see what she does with Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children which is due out later this year.
