Wow, that'd be a pretty fast turn-around, huh?

Sorry, to clarify, I meant; there are way to many films coming out in the next few weeks for me to end up catching the Oldboy remake before it leaves theaters.

Yeah, there's enough new releases...plus I have no interest in contributing any money to this remake, anyways.

    It's a cable-viewing at-best for me.

I saw Inside Llewyn Davis last night. I don't really know what else there is to add about the Coen Brothers at this point, but if you believe they're two of the finest filmmakers on the planet this movie won't do anything to change your mind. I think it ranks with their finest films. It was a really nice vehicle for Oscar Isaac (who was new to me) and oh boy what a soundtrack. I'll probably go see it again this weekend.

Oscar Isaac was phenomenal and I loved the music too. Like any Coen brothers movie, I need to see it again (and again and again) to truly understand/appreciate it entirely.

    Persepolis is excellent.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Persepolis is wonderful. Really nice animation, and a great story that has a lot of humor mixed in with the shit the protagonist has to deal with.

We discussed it briefly. It's worth watching because the performances are so excellent, but I found it lacking visually.

    Persepolis is indeed great.

Wish I had seen Persepolis as a young woman. Very good coming of age story.

Johnnie To is a fucking wizard. His latest, Drug War, went up on Netflix Instant today and as I'm sure KungFuJoe will attest it's utterly fantastic.

I saw "To The Wonder" the other night. It was not my taste. My boyfriend said it was like one long Calvin Klein commercial, which I agree with.

So, the script for Spring Breakers definitely exists and it's 79 pages. I don't know / care whether the words "fever dream" are included.

The story of Mine That Bird's Kentucky Derby win in 09 is being made into a movie. March release. I still have no clue how that horse won that race based on his efforts going into the race. He was 50-1 but shoulda been 200-1. His best race was actually in a close loss in the Preakness next out. Good publicity for the sport. This isn't some miracle horse or a heart-warming family connection. These were some New Mexico-based horse trainers that somehow got a really good 2 year old from Canada and got into the Derby when a bunch of other horses dropped out lol.

The trainer of Mine that Bird was arrested a couple of years ago pissing on a slot machine at a casino in Iowa lol.

Also... for better or worse does it seem like Matthew McConaughey turned down a role in this lol?

I mean, I understand why people write about the Oscar horse race and drive traffic around it, but it's the least helpful way to think about movies, and it's all the more aggravating because no one remembers any of it six months to a year later.
