Before this became the most pompous thread on the board we used to talk about all sorts of movies, including stupid blockbuster comic book movies.

Also, no one said not to talk about superhero movies. I think TallChris was objecting to the size of the photograph, not its subject.

I feel like most of the major releases that should be seen get overshadowed by bullshit like Twilight, and because they don't get an instant #1 spot or don't retain high numbers (due to terrible marketing campaigns) they are out of the theater within 3 weeks or have very awful scheduling. That's incredibly frustrating with the amount of work it takes to put into a good film.

WOOT Got my Bat Cowl, Steelbook, and Digibook editions of TDKR (gunna skip posting a picture of them to avoid some of you fucks having a hissy fit). Didn't get the trilogy set since they are releasing an Ultimate Collectors Edition Trilogy in 2013. Stoked to see the film again because I saw it at midnight and basically have only talked/thought about the shootings since. It'll be nice to watch it again while separating that event from the film.

I don't think there's really anything to discuss at this point, beyond pure speculation based on opinions of Snyder's work. it's pretty amazing how little information or footage has been released at this point.

I'm fine with discussion about anything, really. xanman is just terrible at gauging the give-a-fuck level of people both in this thread, and in several others, and it's annoying as fuck when you're trying to have a decent back-and-forth about something and he trots in with his lol check me out with Tobey Maguire pics.

I am only really concerned about Russell Crowe. Or, rather, from hearing him in the international trailer am hoping it is good even with him.

We know Fantine will be great.

Pretty sure this film will produce another Oscar nod for Anne Hathaway. In the trailer she sounds pretty amazing.

Thank you for putting this here. I don't think any of us have mentioned the Sundance lineup yet; it's one of the most exciting in years (on paper, at least), and this is perhaps the jewel in the crown. According to the iTunes page, it already has a release date of March 22!!!

i'm picky about fantine, but that's only because i sing a mean "i dreamed a dream". i think she'll be good though. i've not heard amanda seyfried sing much, does she have enough power as a soprano?

I named the wrong character, though I do think Anne Hathaway sounds very compelling as Fantine, her bit was a good choice for the trailer, though I've seen her in almost nothing.

I was actually thinking of Eponine, played by Samantha Barks who sang the role for a year in the West End production as well as the 25th Anniversary Concert performance.

I have not heard her. I am not willing to watch the Mamma Mia movie to find out.

Amanda Seyfried has a lovely singing voice - she was adorable in Mamma MIa.

Thinking about 'Life of Pi' in 3D this weekend after seeing Ang Lee's 'Brokeback Mountain' again recently. What a classic that is, although I don't think the Ledger/Jack Twist final meeting was all that realistic (why would he crush his soul and be so cold like that?). And you notice how it's never played on broadcast cable? It's not anywhere. Ashame. "King of the road".

Life of Pi is a nice movie well worth seeing in the theater in 3D.

I'm watching Flying Swords of Dragon Gate on Netflix streaming right now and loving it. Wish I had caught this in 3D. Way more entertaining than Thai Chi Zero.
