300 is the rebate for people who have no dependants and are single. That calculator asks if you have children reported as dependants. I do report myself as a dependant on my taxes, but that is not on there as a question. so thats what it comes out to.

its like I get a state tax refund and the IRS taxes it the next year. I get a federal refund and the state taxes it the next year. Not that I'm getting a refund or anything this year. motherfuckers.

That calculator asks if YOU can be claimed as a dependent by someone else, as the very first question. You're not getting a rebate.
