Once upon a time, I was working alone in a poorly toyshop basement full of lumps of broken old rocking horses and life size dolls. A few hours on my own started to get to me, and I forgot my mp3 player was plugged into the speakers. It glitched and switched itself on to to some Knife song or other, and text can't quite express how terrifying the experience was.

The Knife is at the top of my wish list but it is very unlikely to see them play anytime soon, especially in the states. In 2006, after the culmination of the Silent Shout tour they announced that they would be on a three year hiatus. That does put them into 2009 but with no new material since early 2006 and their disdain for performing live and the mainstream music scene there is little to zero chance of it happening. It is a damn shame too. To ease the blow, check out their DVD of the Silent Shout tour.

I love The Knife. Damn.
