If you are going alone, I say fly. If you are going with friends, then I say drive.

Flying is going to be about the same when you factor in a rental car (unless you carpool). Think about the value of your time. 3 hour flight versus 16 hour drive (each way).

If you're going with a few friends and have the time to do it, DEFINATELY DRIVE. Road trips with friends should always be a ton of fun. If you're alone, and are cramped for time like I'am, fly and get a rental car. You should be able to find some people to carpool with pretty easy to offset the rental car costs. If you need some more info-

I'm going from PDX as well and after initially deciding to drive, I thought better of it and am now flying.

Gas + stops for food + possibly stopping overnight > plane ticket and rental car.

I'm into it for $375 flying/rental so far and I'm splitting the rental car most likely.
