Default Its raining blind Canadian guitar virtuosos.

Jeff Healey seemed like the nicest guy in the world and he kicked ass on the guitar, especially for a blind guy. I saw him play as a kid and was blown away. Very sad that he passed away this weekend.

his solo at the end here is great - love the bassists face

and here's his big hit (and fantastically cheesy video)

I think he was 41....he lost his eyesight because of cancer when he was a baby and died from it now - what a shitty fucking illness

he made it commercially big in Canada in the late '80s but lately was regarded mostly for his jazz-rock abilities...

That's horrible. I remember I was in junior high (I think) when his hit got airplay, and I found him so endearing. I loved his voice.

    RIP

    Fuck you, cancer!!!

I was just reading what type of cancer it was, but I just threw the newspaper away. But yeah, it was some insanely, rediculously rare form of cancer. I saw him perform on TV at Torontos SarsFest. (I don't actually thing that is what it was called, but thats what most people refer to it as.) I was blown away. He has a new CD comming out next month as well.

Wow. How sad, but amazing as well that he fought back that horrible disease for 41 years. An amazing talent.
