Her new album is pretty cool, but a tad slower than I'd like. It would be great to see her again...I have seen her twice a the SF Fillmore and Coachella should be graced with her elegant presence.

Them, them, not "her". Goldfrapp is a duo. Let's not forget Will Gregory. Their incredible near perfect live sound can largely be attributed to the fact that Gregory is at the soundboard during their gigs working his magic.
I still can't believe that they're not playing. This seemed like the perfect year for them to finally make their Coachella debut.
I'm really starting to warm to 7th Tree now that I've had it for a few days. It really is a grower.
Here they are performing several tracks from 7th Tree live on Channel 4 in the UK:
'Clowns'
'Road to Nowhere'
'Happiness'
'A&E' and 'Caravan Girl'
And here's their cover of The Klaxon's 'It's Not Over Yet' performed on BBC Radio a few weeks ago:

Would be nice but not going to happen. Goldfrapp was an obvious choice I thought for this year but alas, I was wrong. Is actually one of the reasons I'm not going this year. There are many other reasons but this was a clincher.

seriously.
people need to go out and BUY the album though. help the cause.
i just received my deluxe edition. it's packaged so beautifully. i love the hand written lyrics book, poster & postcards. good to see Will Gregory get his face in there. Alison is gorgeous.
what?
YES!
Chuck Norris has the best poker face of all time. It helped him win the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite having in his hand a Joker, a 6 of Clubs, a Get Out of Jail Free Monopoly Card, his drivers license, and a Green Uno Card.
I bought the special edition Cd/Dvd of Seventh Tree and the goodies were worth the extra few bucks.
Ah come on, if you ever seen Allison Goldfrapp perform live you know that you have eyes only for her while she is on stage, even if there are women/animals wearing tight body suits gyrating on stage or 'Jesus' is up there wearing a robe and playing a violin.

fikus,
I'm pinching pennies these days so just I just went for the standard cd. What exactly were the extras besides the handwritten lyrics?
Speaking of lyircs, how funny-sad are the lyrics for 'Clowns'? Who knew it was about breast implants and body image issues.
Here they are performing 2nd single, Happiness on the Jonathan Ross show yesterday:
(A little more raw than the Channel 4 performances)
Well it comes in a nicely finished box, the handwritten lyrics are pretty cool (they have drawings for each of the songs), 4 postcards (2 of Allison, 1 of Will Gregory and 1 of the Owl Person thingie), 1 poster (Allison in a white hippie shirt on a beach with the Owl thingie's head above her on a big post), a short documentary (Allison and Will describing the making of 7th Tree (they describe the music as English Folk and Psychedelic mixed with a little bit of California Sunshine) the score is pretty and the images are random, they include Allison and Will at that cabin in the English countryside where they wrote and recorded the album) and the Dvd also has the A&E video.

Finally got around to listening to the new CD. It is great! I don't know why people are complaining. Puts Supernature to shame. Then again I was getting tired of that disco shit.

It's getting close and it looks there's a week of time for Coachella. Come on Paulie; the anticipation is killing me.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Still holding onto some hope for this add too. Just got an email from in which their rep stated this:
"International Deers, do not panic as we hope to bring you news on some new live dates next week."
Apparently "Seventh Tree" broke into the U.S. top ten. I'm sure they'll be happier to come here now.

I'm not holding my breath on the US dates. The utter lack of US promotion for their most commercially successful album, Supernature, was pretty disappointing. Just one Southern California performance in nearly two years of touring. Bah!
Oh and they had a top 10 album on iTunes, but not in overall sales. They debuted at Number 48 on the Billboard 200.
Them, fikus, Them. They're a duo/group, not a solo artist.
don't worry. they'll definately be at least one more so cal performance this year. I'm confident in that.
Heard their new single on the radio the other night. Really not interested in seeing them now.
I'm assuming your referring to Happiness? it's very Beatlesesque.
or A&E? which to me sounds like some Shanai Twain shit. Either way, I agree their singles are pretty weak. Especially A&E.
You know, guys, I have to admit that when I first heard 'A&E' last year I thought it was incredibly lightweight and I did not find it appealing at all. Once you've heard it in the context of the whole album with full cd quality audio, your mind might change. I never thought I'd like that song and it's really grown on me.
Also, it's not entirely representative of the album. The one song on the album I really cant' get behind is 'Carvan Girl'. I hope they've gotten guitar-pop out of their system with that one track.
For a better perspective on the album check out 'Clowns', 'Road to Somewhere', 'Eat Yourself', 'Monster Love'.
