    Default Massive Attack's Meltdown

They've been announced as the Artistic Directors of the 15th Annual Meltdown Festival at Southbank Centre.

    http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/all-events/meltdown/

In the same e-mail I got that link, they also alerted me that they've got a new official website: http://www.massiveattack.com/. Could we be seeing new music from Portishead AND Massive Attack this year? The forecast seems optimistic.

    Sounds pretty sweet.
Hopefully they swing by the U.S. as well sometime this year...
Is it too early to think they may be at All Points West?

Also, they will be at Glastonbury 2008 as well.

The new site is nice too.

As I said in the Glastonbury thread. Massive Attack will be headlining a day of Coachella 2009. Unless they are at APW that is...

Maybe Massive Attack should concentrate on their day job (being a band) rather than playing Alex Trebek for some damn festival.

Which reinforces my point about bands doing band things like y'know releasing an album once in a while.

I was going to say. This would be cooler if it had MBV. And Mogwai. And Tortoise. And Meat Puppets. And Built to Spill. And Low. And Polvo. Etc.

The collection of talent, including the Don't Look Back performances, is killer. This is probably the best ATP festival yet, with only half of the lineup. Massive Attack's thing is cool. It just isn't as good as ATP NY.
