I don't give a fuck about blue stuff showing up or if it was supposed to be blue before or after, or how fast it could have happened, I have a problem with them having Charlie Rose blabbing about it. I don't agree that it would have been so sensationalized that the details about blue meth would have been dinner table conversation. And even if it was, Charlie Rose talking about it is still awkward. It's not a big deal, just a mildly irritating, especially in the context of a discussion with the founders of Gray Matter (leaving aside why they're on fucking Charlie Rose in the first place to be ambushed by the question)

The fact that it involved gray matter and the retarded conversation about Walt's insignificance was problem, leaving aside the awkward way it was laid out. But if you do want to focus on the conveyance method, if the point was Walt's pride, it would have been more ideal to have the source of Walt's rage be his own runaway thought process, ignited by news from the papers.

Instead we got Charlie Rose.
You're right the obit for Andrea would have been great.

The ricin is for Walt. He's going to lace his last cigarette with it.

K, if you think so. Redemption will come though, guarantee.

If Walt willingly takes the ricin I believe it will be because he is also poisoning someone else/a group of people and he has to drink from the same source that they do in order to administer the poison to them without arousing suspicion. It's supposed to take like 3 days before someone dies from ricin right?

The argument was that pride brings him back which it is. He may redeem himself (I hope not) but that is not his reason for returning.

Yes but it wasn't ricin and was rapid acting. With how many parallels there are between Walt and Gus I only see this as evidence towards Walt doing something similar, not against.

maybe they'll rob a subway train. the last one was above ground, and with all the parallels between season 5.1 walt and season 5.2 walt, i see this as all but confirmed.

So you're envisioning a Princess Bride scenario as the culmination of the entire series?

It wasn't blue before. Todd and Lydia fought about it so we'd take notice. The blue meth's return is Walt's clue that Jesse is still alive.

I think he's probably well aware that there are only two people (living) who understand his process for manufacturing enough to possibly generate the blue product.

Ah yes. I think it's all a little flimsy, but whatever. It appears as though that was probably a way for Walt to know that Jesse might still be alive.

He basically just knows that the quality has taken a nose dive because of the visit from Lydia to the car wash. Also, he has gotten updates from Todd about how the hierarchy of the new business was changing.

From my understanding the blue color came from the way he was making it with the methylamine (as opposed to a P2P cook) and not because of the purity.

I loved how wet Lydia got when Todd mentioned 92% quality and the blue color.

Anyway, my nit picking and dumbassery aside, I have a feeling they'll wrap this up pretty nicely. I'm really hoping for the most bleak and tragic ending possible, while still keeping with the integrity of the story and characters. Though, I'm not going in with any real specific requirements about what needs to happen. I love the show and trust the writers.

No, it changed after they stole the barrel of methylamine. It was clear early in season 1. Tuco acts surprised when they show up with blue meth after they start their business relationship with him at the very end of season 1.

Not when they were using pseudo. Once they realized that was going to be a bottleneck they picked up the barrel of methylamine and Walter changed the cook entirely from a P2P cook to this new way of doing it and this is what created the blue product. Yes, they did this in the Winnebago days but it wasn't the original product.

That said, the idea that Walt is coming back to New Mexico because people are selling blue meth again is probably wrong. I imagine he gave up his ego in ownership when he bought out of the business; people are reading too much into the Charlie Rose thing where he says "blue meth is back on the streets," at least as it would affect Walt's psyche. If that revelation did bother him, it's probably not so much because someone is mimicking his work, as it is insult-to-injury proof that his Aryan enemies are still very much in business.

I think the point was that the two biggest accomplishments in his life (Grey Matter and the Heisenberg Blue brand, his "Coca-Cola") have both been taken from him and the people who took it from him have reaped all of the benefits for themselves. He is going to take back what's his or at least die bringing these people down with him.
