I agree 100%. I checked out youtubes of Gogol's performance at Coachella and have come to the conclusion that the crowd is really what makes Gogol interesting. The crowd went fucking nuts in those clips, and really that is what everyone is after, just like Arcade Fire in 05, and Daft Punk in 06, people want to say that they were a part of that. I think eventually the Gogol hype will die, because unlike Arcade Fire, and Daft Punk, Gogol's music is not all that great.
Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick. I completely agree with this (and with Boourns on Hot Chip).
Also agree with Passive Theory on his entire last email, right up til he said Bob Dylan. I can't even imagine life without Dylan. There's nothing better than just grabbing a random Dylan vinyl and kicking off a Sunday the right way.

i agree that musically, the ed banger crew dont live up to the hype, but god damn can they throw a party!

BOARDS OF CANADA
i thought these guys would be the 2nd fuckin coming after all the shit i hear you people talk on here, so i finally listen and its just blah! i cant believe this is who you all want to see play coachella so bad. i mean, its not horrible, but its nothing even close to special. its just background music, maybe something id put on while i read, or go to sleep.
It's great chill-out music. goes well with mescaline.

I love how zzz talks about pairing drugs with music as if she's pairing wine with food.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
I don't drink alcohol. I need some sort of vice.
edit: but since you mentioned it,
BoC - mescaline
DCFC - E (seriously)
Massive Attack - acid
Radiohead - acid
Ladytron - E

Tiesto doesn't qualify because everyone doesn't rave about him.
'99-'11...
Boards of Canada are light years ahead of the rest of the human race.
I didn't really realize how many die hard fans Tiesto had until I got into the pit at the main stage last year for Arcade Fire, everybody had been lined up since early that afternoon to get a good spot for fucking Tiesto...unreal.
Speaking of DJ's has anybody heard The Crystal Method DRIVE album?
I know it came out awhile ago and I asked in another thread, just wanted to see what you guys thought.
And for me it would be pretty much anything METAL.
My friends love it and cant get enough.
I appreciate some of the riffs and grooves but for me its comes down to the singing, or should I say the my-stomachs-coming-thru-my-mouth-screaming. I just dont find this appealing at all and I think it downgrades the music.
