Bonnaroo >=< Coachella?

After the Bonnaroo lineup was announced, do you think the overall lineup is better or worse than Coachella. It seems like there are more overlaps with Coachella than usual. Also, who else thought Zeppelin was going to be there?

I am really getting a kick out of reading the bonnaroo boards. I am definatley going to coachella, been planned for a while now but they have posts such as : Who should be Added?

Send this petition (where they complain about Metallica and Kanye)

And even a post trying to urge people to get the local council to ban Metallica from playing....

goin to TN obviously means bonn is better and stickin with indio means coachella is better...ok same 10 to 12 bands a tie

what exactly do no zep and the last option mean? two more options for why bonn sucks or something else. do I say where is led zep to say Im not going to bonn or stickin with indio to say im going to coachella. maybe im just overthinking this too much. im going to coachella and although the two fests share a lot of bands I dont count that as a tie I just see it as bonn 08 copying coachella 08 copying coachella 07.

I was talking with Eugene from Gogol last night and he told me that he's more excited to go to Bonnaroo than Coachella because "coachella is too corporate and has too many cops". Pffft. Whatever.

If he was so bitter about Coachella, he wouldn't be attending at all. So he can't be that disgruntled. Also, I talked to a bunch of the band members at Vegoose, and they all said they had a blast at Coachella! Elizabeth, the girl who got on the bass drum, said it was one of her favorite shows ever.

There are reasons to go to both, and I enjoyed both last year immensely, but bonnaroo is the better festival for listening to music. Sure Coachella gets badass lineups, but no one ever plays past midnight or longer than an hour and a half. In 2006 at bonnaroo Radiohead played 3 hours, and i am willing to bet either Pearl Jam or Metallica will play that long.
The late night sets at Bonnaroo are completely badass, and Coachella doesnt have that at all. I dont think everyone here realizes that. Also Bonnaroo has way more freedom with what you are allowed to do and bring in than Coachella.
Oh shit, I forgot something at my car or campsite at Coachella, well you are out of luck. At Bonnaroo, if the headliner comes on in an hour, you can go get wasted at your campsite off your own alchohol. Plus the searches going into Coachella are pretty hardcore, at Bonnaroo, not at all.
When Tool came on everyone ran straight through the gate inside, that would never happen at Coachella. If you dont like camping, then Bonnaroo aint your thing, if you enjoy it, then its the best place in the world. Once you step inside, you wont be leaving for four days along with 80000 other people.
I still love Coachella, but its twice as far, and way more expensive for a road trip. This year its Bonnaroo for me. Coachella is really electronic this year, but I would go if I could.
