I haven't fully thought this through, but..
Would anyone feel better if the poster had The Breeders headlining Day 1 instead of Jack Johnson?

What if Jack Johnson was just on the third line? Would people be as upset about it?

I don't know if The Breeders are really "headlining material" , but its waaaayyy fucking better than Jack Johnson, right?
Anyone else excited to see them?

I have to say though, when I heard The Breeders were going to be at Coachella, I assumed they were headlining. And I was okay with that.

I know that's not the coolest thing in the world. I thought the Curious George thing was cool... But I was really rooting for something else to headline.

By the way, go listen to The Verve. They are pretty awesome. Sort of like Oasis. Listen to songs like Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man and Sonnet. All from the same album, but the others are great too.

At least this guy didn't just dismiss The Verve altogether, but I gotta say- Urban Hymns (Bittersweet Symphony, and the other tracks you mentioned) is great, but A Storm In Heaven (earlier album) is WAY better, not just some Britpop. I'd say SIH comes close to rivalling Loveless, so far as early 90's trippy British rock (the absurdly denoted "shoegaze") goes.

As for headlining, The Verve should have been over JJ or The Breeders. So what if their American fan base isn't a big as JJ's?! Fuck American fans, headlining spots are for good music.
