At last count, the guys weren't friends anymore. Coincidentally, I was at their last show (though I didn't know it was, at the time) opening for NIN in Calgary. They filled the stadium with so much sound off a single bass guitar, I just couldn't believe it. Awesome!

uhm... August 4, 2006? Since then JFK has been happily touring and recording as half of MSTRKRFT, who are fun, but frankly just not as awesome.

That was definatley a sweet show, Death from Above 1979 blew QOTSA out of the water forsure.

They both hate each others guts. Bad blood doesn't even begin to describe the relationship between the two. I don't exactly know what happened, all I know is that both have laughed off the idea of a DFA 1979 reunion. What makes it worse, is that they were halfway done their new album. We probably wont even ever get to hear what they got done.

Instead we are stuck with two mediocre side projects. fml.

these guys hated each other, there was tension on stage. in this vid, jfk cuts off Sebastian and even throws a towel at him. you can tell it was tense between them.

I saw JFK and the other dude from MSTRKRFT outside of the Mirage in Vegas after Vegoose 07. when I mentioned DFA1979 he rolled his eyes and ignored all comments/questions. I imagined that in his mind he was saying, "why don't these douches love MSTRKRFT?"

I saw DFA 1979 open for The Donnas at the HOB on sunset. They were cool, but at the time I had no idea who they were... to me they were just like a'aight... it wasn't until later that they broke up that I fully appreciated their music. Whatevz. I don't think this'll happen.
