At last count, the guys weren't friends anymore. Coincidentally, I was at their last show (though I didn't know it was, at the time) opening for NIN in Calgary. They filled the stadium with so much sound off a single bass guitar, I just couldn't believe it. Awesome!

uhm... August 4, 2006? Since then JFK has been happily touring and recording as half of MSTRKRFT, who are fun, but frankly just not as awesome.

If they were at Coachella, they would be my number 1. Even if Faith No More and Gorillaz were there.

Sadly, Im not sure this will EVER happen.

Haven't done too much research on this but apparently the duo had a falling out? Highly unfortunate.

They both hate each others guts. Bad blood doesn't even begin to describe the relationship between the two. I don't exactly know what happened, all I know is that both have laughed off the idea of a DFA 1979 reunion. What makes it worse, is that they were halfway done their new album. We probably wont even ever get to hear what they got done.

Instead we are stuck with two mediocre side projects. fml.

    FML indeed.
"I know its been forever since I wrote anything on here. I'm sure by now most of you assume the band isn't happening anymore since there are no shows, no work on a new album, etc. well. I wanted to let you know that your assumptions are correct. We decided to stop doing the band... Actually we decided that almost a year ago. We finished off our scheduled tour dates because there were good people working for us who relied on us to make a living and buy Christmas presents and pay rent etc. We couldn't just cancel everything and leave them out to dry... Plus I think we wanted to see if we would reconsider after being out on the road. Our label was really hoping that we would change our minds, so they asked us to keep quiet about the decision for at first. Well, it's been quite a while now and we are still very sure the band won't happen again, so I guess it's time to say something.(...)”

these guys hated each other, there was tension on stage. in this vid, jfk cuts off Sebastian and even throws a towel at him. you can tell it was tense between them.

I saw JFK and the other dude from MSTRKRFT outside of the Mirage in Vegas after Vegoose 07. when I mentioned DFA1979 he rolled his eyes and ignored all comments/questions. I imagined that in his mind he was saying, "why don't these douches love MSTRKRFT?"

I have always thought Coachella would be a venue where they would have a reunion, to bad it will never happen. Sebastien Grainger and the Mountains is a great band, they got my vote for 2010.

I saw DFA 1979 open for The Donnas at the HOB on sunset. They were cool, but at the time I had no idea who they were... to me they were just like a'aight... it wasn't until later that they broke up that I fully appreciated their music. Whatevz. I don't think this'll happen.

I'll never forget seeing DFA on Halloween 2005.

Coachella 2011.....DFA headlining the Mohave while the "shouldn't be a headliner" of 2011 plays the main stage.
