Indio, alongside with Palm Desert and Coachella are in the COACHELLA VALLEY, i think the festival is named after the valley not the city. And the actual cities of Indio and Palm Desert are also shitholes.

Anyway, the polo grounds are actually being moved a couple miles south-east. I think future Coachellas will be held there.

Heard there was a land speculator looking at the property (for condos of all things) which would effectively shut out Goldenvoice from holding the festival at the Polo Grounds. Any news on THAT rumor?

Unless the plans have been changed, they're building a resort on the polo grounds in the near future. I would imagine that the festival will move after another year or two.

last year during the scissor sisters show they stated it was going to be the last year at the polo fields.....yet its there again this year...hmmmmm.

There's a much larger equestrian center being built a few miles east in Thermal (no too far away) it's not complete yet but it's huge. The condo rumor at the empire polo grounds is true so maybe it will be moved, plus allot of housing is being built around that area so it's bound to happen.

But I heard that rumor that something else bought where the coachella fest is held and that it's the last year thats why theres three days. But it's not true.

i think the Festival will be moving with the people running the Polo grounds now. As a couple people have been saying, there's a new equestrian center being built a few miles southeast. It's on a large plot of land next to the Thermal Airport. it's perfect. artists can fly in on their cesnas and get to the Festival no problem.

Hey there - just to put this thread to rest.

The developer in question is Alex Hagen - who is already the owner of Empire Polo.
Were Coachella to move, it would resurrect at the Eldoradeo Polo Field [adjacent to Empire] and the present location of the camping grounds..
