There was a thread somewhere the other day that showed the 2001 schedule. ALL the tents were electronic. They had The Orb vs Chemical Brothers vs K&D!

I don't really want an "old fashioned rock element." So see the VH tour for that crap. That said, this lineup could use a few more "modern rock elements".

Also, I get bugged that Coachella is so electronic heavy while ignoring certain electronic genres that aren't "cool enough". "Industrial" doesn't mean much anymore since there's so many subgenres, but would it be SO bad to book a few artists that fit into that general area? In the past there's been VNV Nation and...er...I guess that's it.

Agreed, I would be very happy with Einsturzende Neubauten dropping steel beams from the rafters on the main stage.
"Yes, I am indeed beautiful! Sometimes I sit and wonder, in my artless Japanese way, why it is that I am so much more attractive than anybody else in the whole world. Can this be vanity? No! Nature is lovely and rejoices in her loveliness. I am a child of Nature, and take after my mother."

EN would be epic. But we can't even get a second rate Futurepop act. (Except - cough- VNV Nation).

i kind of agree with the original poster. while I love electronic music, and will probably spend my fair share of time in the sahara tent this year, i'm a rocker at heart, and wish there were a few more rockers higher up on the bill this year, something similar to arctic monkeys, wolfmother, muse, modest mouse, etc. i know raconteurs and mmj fit that bill, and i am looking forward to them, just wish there were a few more. that being said, im sure after some more research i'll find some smaller bands i had never heard of before that will rock.

Who hates Roskilde right about now. It's turning into exactly what coachella should have been this year:

Radiohead, MBV, Chemical Bros. and Yeasayer. I hate Denmark.

I love it when people complain about a new form of music and say its just noise...they dont realize they sound just like the older generation of the 50s and 60s who said rock was just a fad and was nothing but noise...funny how history repeats itself.

furthermore they wouldnt have the talent it takes to keep a party going like these accomplished dj/producers and definitely wouldnt have the creative force for producing it.
