What kind of food do they have and what how much is it. Is it junk food or what.

You can find good food there. But it's all "carnival" type food for the most part. There are some vegetarian options and some vegan options. You can make it relatively healthy. It's all pretty expensive.

Actually, I was referring to the Festival itself. I just now see that I am in the camping thread. So, if you were referring to food on the campground, don't expect much. HOWEVER, the breakfast burrito is a godsend.

There's all kinds of stuff, a bit pricey, but not too bad. Last year I really liked the asian noodley plates...those were yummy. and churros.....the churros were bomb.

You guys are nuts. You can fill up for about $7.00. I highly recommend the lamb gyros. The Indian food looked decent, too... that is until i walked behind all the food tents looking for a rumored secret portapotty only to find huge vats of food being stirred in the open air with dirt, grass and flies hovering overhead.

    Yeah, stick with the gyros.

Look, you are going to need to drop $7 on food at least twice a day while you're inside if you care to have any energy at all. That doesn't account for water or beer if you're drinking. I usually grab food about every four hours, drink water constantly and have beers around dusk. I plan on $60-70 a day for those three categories.

Veggie pizza! I think it was like $5 for a humongous slice... but I don't really remember.

I had this great sandwich once, I think it was in '03. It was from the vegan booth and had baby coconut shredded in it. It was $10 and worth it.

But .... The absolute best food at the campsite last year was the bloody mary bar!!! Best idea ever.

Last year I planned $40 a day for food and was really hungry, thirsty, and broke come Sunday afternoon. This year I'm making it a cool $100/day.

I'm not a vegetarian, but the veggie and vegan food is the best options at Coachella. Good stuff.

The yummiest thing I had at Coachella was the guacamole. It was so fresh tasting. I'm not normally a fan of guac, but freaking a it was delicious.

I spend 7 dollars a day on food. I eat before i come into the festival, have one meal in there and then eat when i get out. It's worked 3 years in a row, so i'm keepin with that model. Water, i buy 6 bottles usually. Just get em at the start of the day and put them in my backpack so that I don't have to give up a good spot if I happen upon one.

While not really "food"...fresh coconuts are awesome. You can go back after you drink the coconut water and have them open up the husks so you can eat the meat, too. Lots of water in that as well.

The smoothies are killer, especially when it's 100 degrees out. I find that they are much more effective than water--at least temporarily--at keeping one cool.

Also: pizza is great, the veggie/vegan food is great, veggie burgers (can you tell I am a vegetarian?)...and funnel cakes and garlic fries...mmmm. Can you also tell that I am a foodie? I could start my own show, call it "The Coachella Gourmet" --JUST KIDDING.

Anyway, the point of all of this is that there are so many options, and it's NOT really that expensive! You will spend more money on water and beer than on food, for sure.

That's what I'm saying. You bring food in a cooler, chow down before you get in, and eat at the food court only once or twice a day. $100/day sound like mostly booze money to me.

When spending a day in the heat, I prefer to eat several light meals than ever "chowing down" -- especially right before I enter the festival.
