"Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released as a commercial single twenty years ago today.

I'm too busy putting the finishing touches on my "9/11 was an inside job" manifesto for publication this weekend.

Alley oop to Erik (and anyone that wants to listen to a 2-hour interview):

Jon Stewart hosts an exclusive Town Hall with original Nirvana bandmembers Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, as well as Nevermind’s producer Butch Vig. The event will feature questions from a live studio audience of fans, broadcast from the SiriusXM Studios, in honor of the 20th anniversary of Nevermind's release.

Did anybody mention in any of these threads that apparently the 20th anniv. albums are victims of the loudness wars?

    Cause thats some shitty news.

The Current (my local public radio station) is commemorating Nirvana. Some of the interviews are with local radio hosts and musicians but there might be some interesting stuff in here for diehards. "Nevermind the Interview" at 5 pm CST today (can stream.)

That's all any remasters are these days...just brickwalled songs. I actually cancelled my pre-order for both the super deluxe and vinyl set.

Dave, Krist, and Pat were in Chicago yesterday having dinner with Steve Albini at Kuma's (best burger joint in the city) and then at Piece Pizza watching Hawks game. Rick Neilsen of Cheap Trick was also there. Nothing concrete, but I have a feeling that they are doing something special for the 20th anniversary of In Utero this September.

Rick owns the place, so thats not surprising. My chicago friends are all furious over this, since a lot of them dont live too far from Wicker Park.

I walked by there last night with my dog and they were just sitting there in the window booth enjoying some beers watching the game.
