yeah the bleach era shows have a certain intensity and rawness to them that is great. I love a lot of the In Utero era show bootlegs I have. Great setlists, more variety shown by the band (acoustic sets etc.). Wouldv'e died to catch one of those shows. Did you ever see Nirvana live menik?

I have this vivid memory of MTV News doing a story on In Utero when it was forthcoming and they showed footage of Nirvana playing the chorus of "Milk It" in concert and I was like "fuck yes, dude".

Oh oh! Erik! When I saw Ghostland Observatory a couple of weeks ago, DJ Lord from Public Enemy opened up for them and just played some shitty tracks for an hour or so. But, in a super bizarre moment, he dropped "Drain You" on everyone in the middle of it.

Here is their 1993 Halloween show (1993-10-31 - James A. Rhodes Auditorium, University of Akron, Ohio - AUD #1)

    http://dl.free.fr/rrmfUOXkW

(site is in french, so navigate at your own risk - files are flac, so either convert them to mp3, or use VLC or Winamp to listen to them - might in .rar format too, so you need to extract it first - dunno)

    and here is another (1993-11-27):

Got the Reading and Bleach stuff today. Have to say the Bleach packaging for both the LP and CD is very well done...the booklet of photos and stuff is great...a must have for any fan. The live show added onto Bleach is really good, even if it is missing inbetween song banter and such...good performances of some non bleach tracks like Molly's Lips, Dive, and Been A Son. It's hard to tell a big difference in the "remastered" sound...usually I don't even care for remastering...I mean what can you really do with a 20 year old recording made on a 4 track? It seems a little louder, but that's about it.

I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm sure Nirvana are the only band that I can definitely say I remember exactly when I heard them first. Late '91 on Dave Fannings show on 2FM in Ireland.

MJA, I'm not sure I ever commended you on using "would have" in the thread title. Every time I see "would of" used on this board, my inner English major wants to punch stuff. It's wrong. Wrongwrongwrongwrong. Would have/would've = correct. Would of = little lone.

I went to the Experience Music Project in Seattle this past weekend, and they had a exhibit on Nirvana. It was a collection of a bunch of Nirvana memorabilia, like Kurt's guitar from the Reading Festival, first demo tape, his setlist from MTV unplugged, interviews from bands around that time about the time and influence, etc. If any Nirvana fans are in Seattle you might want to check it out.

Impossibility. He didn't believe in anything he was doing anymore. They also haven't aged well musically, so I'm surprised people still carry on about them.

Maybe because people don't agree that they haven't aged well?

I know I could put on a Nirvana album right now and still really enjoy it.
