So can we bring our car right to the camping spot? Or do we have to park and walk with all our crap?
Cuz that doesnt sound fun.
Is there a spot there to camp in an RV?

Where is campsite parking?
Campsite parking is free and adjacent to the campgrounds. Directions/details as stated above. Check back for updates. Sorry, NO Sleeping in your car/RV will be allowed.
you can drop off your stuff near the entrance and go park. Cars are not in with tents. did you look at the pictures?

yea, i saw it the link and the pics.
Just weird cuz at the Gorge you can park next to your spot. Dont understand why they dont let you do that.
Anyways...one more question...
If you manage to make it through entrance security with all your beer and what not is there another checkpoint going into the actual sites? Meaning do they also check you when your luggin all your stuff in?
the fucking search button is your motherfucking friend noob dooooooosh. There are no less than 10 searches. 1 initial search of your car before you park. 1 search of all your car and gear as you unload. another search of your car after it has been unloaded and then a further search of you packs and gear. Then they search your person (full cavity) and your gear to get into the campground. Then they assign you a camping spot and search your gear as you unload and setup. Then they search your campsite. Then they take blood, urine, and breath tests to ensure that you are sober and have not used drugs within a testable amount time. Then another full cavitiy search on your way out of the camp grounds. They will also search you at random if you are caught outside of you 8 x 8 assigned camping square. I'm sure I forgot a search or two, but you get the drift right. Also....
fuckmotherfuck thanks...
um likes i donts knows hows you would your car next to tent at coachella if you look at the pictures you will see there would be no room.

I've camped two years (2005 and last year) and security was a lot tighter last year.Especially after the helicopters descended on Saturday night. My recommendation is don't try to bring in everything initially.Just bring the tent, sleeping bags and backpacks. After you go through the check-in,which is when you are searched most thoroughly, and find your spot and set up your tent, then you can go through a different gate to your car,and when you come back in the search is less thorough, especially the first night.
On Sunday morning,I got caught coming back in with a six-pack of Bud that was on ice in the car and the security guy let me down three while he watched.I had to throw out the other three (not because he said, just because I couldn't handle six at 10AM)

how does that work, i mean, like, where is my car gonna be while i camp? and where do i park?
can we drive into the venue?
it would make sense to be able to jump into the pit in my car, right?
so, what your saying is, that i have to drive to an "entrance" (entrance is a funny word huh? its like en-trance whoa) then drop my "stuff" off with a "friend" then drive to a "parking" space and "park" my "car" there?
damn, i gotta be like a rocket surgeon for this stuff... hope i can do it on my lonesome.
Hahaha. Okay, fair point about other venues, as some do let you drive up to your camp spot. I guess people feel you should look at the FAQ where it says parking is adjacent to the campgrounds.
Basically - you enter through a camping traffic entrance, they'll direct you to lots where campers park.
While these are the closest lot, they are not THAT close if you're hauling heavy stuff, so if you have friends and have your shit together, you could stop, have them take the heaviest stuff and get in line. The people directing traffic are not going to let you pull over for long (no "parking") but do let you stop to let passengers out.
You get in line with your stuff, go through a security check, then hand over your camping ticket for a wristband. In theory ID check takes place there, and you can get ID'ed for beer garden wristbands. There are desks where you check in to get a camping assignment. The desks were set up by first initial of last name, last year.
Your friends could either wait for you outside and get in line once you've parked, or go through - if they go through, make sure they ask for an extra spot when registering you.
NEW FOR ONSITE CAMPING 2008:
* Larger spaces (8x8) (larger spaces)
* Additional Registration areas (shorter lines)
* More showers and toilets (again, shorter lines)
* Camping Supply Store (probably tents, sleeping bags, etc.)
* Will Call at Venue will be open 10am on Thursday! (get your will call tickets the day before coachella)
+ other goodies (things to make you happy)
