Hot Chip Vs. LCD Soundsystem

I think this is pretty self explanitory.

But if you'd like an explanation as to why I made this poll, I was listening to some Hot Chip, then some Bullfrog, then some Gorillaz, then some LCD Sound System, and I thought both Hot Chip and LCD are both similar style, and I wanted to know what everyone else thinks abotu this....I chose LCD.

Hot Chip are too poppy when compared to LCD Soundsystem. And, Hot Chip got old. Fast. (still want to see them live tho)

Edit: I still like Made In The Dark better than any of their other albums though.

I'm not a huge fan of either of their records but LCD absolutely melted my face off in 2007 so I voted for them.

Definitely LCD. Especially after seeing them at the El Rey last year. My God those shows were amazing.

I gave the slight edge to LCD as Mr Murphay shows a little more versitility in song writing. Hot Chip definatly has a good thing going for them.

I disagree with the OP saying they have a similar style. I also disagree with the statement that Hot Chip is more poppy. I would say Hot Chip's stuff is more avant-garde whereas LCD is more likely to follow a pop blueprint in how they arrange their songs.

LCD is great live but Hot Chip's live act is sick... a much more frenetic energy. They are more likely to go off and jam freestyle to my booty-shakin content.

As much as I love LCD, had to vote for the Chipsters.

I love Hot Chip, but that guy's voice is too soft...It shouldn't arouse me as much as it does. LCD on the other hand...Dude sounds like's got a bad cold. Not so sexy but pretty cool.

I still like Made In The Dark better than any of their other albums though.

I just listened to the first 4 or 5 tracks on Made In The Dark. It seems like all pop sensibility they had on The Warning is completely gone.

They are both great, especially live. I have to give the edge to Hot Chip because I just plain dig them more even though I have more respect for LCD.
