Default The "Who's Going to Drop Out Next" Topic

    I'm thinking Portishead.

I mean, why not? I already spent 350$ on this, might as well have shit I really want to see go up in smoke.
    Upcoming Shows:
    * The Flaming Lips perform The Soft Bulletin - Bimbo's 365 in SF on February 21st
    * Jeff Mangum - Fox Theater in Oakland on April 10th

Five Years of Coachella Glory: 2007 - 2011 (skipping 2012, maybe I'll be back in '13?)

yeah and it's funny how they do that.

kate nash gets her own thread like it's a huge deal.....one of their "tricks" for sure. but then when someone's dropped, there's no explanation in sight.

i can't imagine how people reacted to the cocteau twins in 05

Sure there wasn't any huge add ons last year, in the sense of being a 2nd tier level act. But from the past years there have been "big" ones added. ( Madonna '06, Hives ' 03, Iggy Pop '03, Massive Attack '06, Beck '04)

Conversely, there have been "big" ones dropped due to unforeseen circumstances ( Cocteau Twins '05, Doves '05, Aphex Twin '01, Wilco '04, FSOL '04)

    It happens every year.

If PassiveTheory dropped out that would really resolve one of my conflicts with the world at large.

    They were absolutely pissed/furious.

I literally fell out of my chair in '04 when Wilco got dropped.

Don't forget the late addition of DAFT PUNK in '06 which turned out to be the best show any motherfucker got to see in 2006. That's probably Example #1 of absolutely brilliant additions.

And of course, people always get upset when they switch bands from day to day. This year is going to take the cake though. I still can't believe that Spiritualized is on Saturday now. I would've loved to see Spiritualized the same day I saw The Field & Roger Waters... would've enhanced my "trip".

My vote is for M.I.A. to be removed, something to do with passport problems and can't get into the U.S.
