Yeah, I'm a graphic designer. I've been listening to bands at work since the lineup was announced. I thought it would take longer than 4 days.

I'd rather read your reviews of the bands, than your review of my reviews.

Your reviews feel like they were written by somebody who is using iTunes to grab a few seconds a song. Shame.

There are some really talented and original bands that get the brush off from you and there are some truly mediocre bands that you have championed. Hopefully people will merely admire your 'work' then disregard your findings. I know I have.

I used Myspace any YouTube. I listened to at least 2 entire songs and part of a third song. They're just my opinions. I'd really like to read other peoples band reviews, rather than reviews of my reviews. Thanks

That pretty much says it all right there. Reducing Stephen Malkmus, founding member of Pavement to an average indie songwriter says the rest.

Reviews are basically criticisms - and you can't be properly critical if you've only heard one or two tracks. You need to live this shit!

Get it now why this thread FAILED? So try listening again. Do yourself a favor, if you cannot listen to these bands' albums in their entirety, DO NOT REVIEW THEM! Maybe use this thread like it's your diary.

that's not fair to say to the guy, though

I mean this is his first reaction at bands he hasn't heard before

the first time I heard david bowie I was like "uh who is this old fuck singing about space", and now he's like my favorite artist

    give homie some slack

    ^^ Yep. How original.

St. Vincent, The National, and DeVotchKa should have gotten a lot more said about them than what was said.

    Pretty helpful imo.

You cant say someones got too much time on their hands for listening to all these bands, then give them shit for not listening to them enough. Its a helpful starting point and at least gives descriptions for most of them. And and its also an opinion.

That was a close one. I missed them last year and I was bummed about that. I was just trying to use the "definatly's" sparingly cause there are always conflicts. I'm pretty sure I'll be a the Gogol Bordello show though

American Bang was one of my big finds! They are playing a show with Cage the Elephant tonight or tomorrow and that's one of my favorite bands right now.

You need to give StePHen Malkmus of Pavement another try if you are going call him a "mediocre indie rock songwriter". That's where you blew your credibility.

i like seeing peoples reviews, thanks ! See ya at My Morning Jacket and Coldwar kids, ouch harsh on the Love n Rockets,

Death Cab is pretty good and Postal Service is like a more electronic side project of Ben Gibbard, thus the similarity.

I kinda don't get Hot Chip or Gogol Bordelo, from the little bit I've seen, even thou people are really talking them up.

Seconded. Just make your own minds up. You have 3 months to check all the myspace links provided on the coachella site. The proof that you shouldn't try and rush it is the first post in this thread.
