how much more official do you need? Maybe a tour in the works. One thing I dont understand is before the line up came out so many people were going nuts that they were playing and now that is "cool" to hate nobody mentions them...or portishead...

No, it's just a cover band using their name.

Seriously, what is your question? They've had a different lineup on every release. What's "official" to you? The only original member left is Kim Deal.

I think it's the same lineup as the last album, minus one of the guitarists.

Um, what about Kelly? Pretty sure she will be there.

6 years is a long time, and they got dumped from Warner in between. Plus Kim spent a couple years touring with The Pixies in between.

Yes, but she's not an original member...technically speaking.

Ah, touche. I did some research and you are right. Kelly wasn't with them until the Safari EP in 1991. I guess I always thought of the Breeders as Kim and Kelly's band.

Yeah they've toured a bit before the Pixies reunion. I was lucky enough to see the show in Cleveland at the Beachland ballroom. It was a total sellout. It was the Deal sisters with a new band. They fuckin rocked. I don't know if it was because they recently had gotten sober or the new band but they held it down & sounded really good. I saw them at Lollapalooza back in the day & I thought they sucked live but much to my amazement they were perfect at the Beachland. Amazing what sobriety & a new band can do for your live show.

And you're right. I just meant...what's an "official reunion" in a band with such a shifting lineup.

I always loved their cover of "Lord Of The Thighs" with Josie on vocals.

Good to know...I've only ever seen them at Lolla '94 and it was pretty bad. Though I always blamed it on the venue. They were so loud, it just turned into mush. Maybe one of the loudest shows I've ever seen. Everyone else that day sounded OK, including L7.

I really hope they close out the outdoor theater or one of the tents, up against Jack Johnson, although I have a feeling they will have a daytime main stage slot, which are the worst spots IMO.

I'm totally excited for the Breeders, even though I know it really does mean the end of the pixies...I read online somewhere that that whole new pixies cd and reunion forever thing got sacked because Kim wasn't on board anymore due to her commitment to the Breeders. Ah well, it was a good dream while it lasted.

Its ok. Any new Pixies material would probably be a disappointment. Just look at Frank Blacks most recent solo stuff. Thats what it would sound like. And while its not bad, its no Doolittle.
