Where the organisers have fallen short in indie/rock/alternative acts, they've played an absolute blinder with the electro/house acts. There are some absolute corkers scheduled and for anyone who hasn't seen them play yet, Simian Mobile Disco are absolutely out of this world and will have the place bouncing. Saw them last year at the Benecássim festival in Spain and it made my trip. In fact, I probably enjoyed watching them more than I enjoyed watching the Arctics and Kings of Leon.

Gotta look on the brightside. It's my first time at this festival and I don't give a sh*t if the lineup falls short, getting right off it in the dessert is gonna be savage.

I had no idea what Simian Mobile Disco were like until I recently heard Hustler for the first time after checking out their myspace when I saw them on the lineup.. Totally fell in it instantly and now have their album.. Great shit.. love listening to all the new bands on the lineup that I have no idea about..

How was Benicassim? I want to hear all about it because I really want to go this year because My Bloody Valentine will be playing. And 9 days of camping within walking distance of the beach, from what I hear. That sounds epic.

SMD is fucking awesome! Some of the best beats I've heard all year...Im actually stoked about the dance tents this year...even if the bands are kind of lacking...but its all good...the vibe will carry Coachella like always! :-)

Benicassim was amazing and the 2008 lineup looks ace, so can't recommend it enough. Don't expect too much from the town though, it's a bit of a shit hole and the restaurants are weak for Spain.

Still, great party festival and if you're into the dance scene, the 'extras' are everywhere.

One thing though, if you're gonna camp, be prepared for your tent nearly melting. Get's blisteringly hot by 11am and the festival doesn't finish until 7am.
