    Default The Official MGMT Thread

    So... I dig these guys. They sound, to me, a lot like the Flaming Lips, and, at times, like Hot Chip (towards the middle of their LP). So, here's a vid of their new single, and let's start building the hype for these guys!

    Upcoming Shows:
    * Dillon Francis + Anamanaguchi -- December 28th

    Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

    I've been on the fence about MGMT. This thread will help me decide.

    yes!

    I was hoping they would be on the lineup and was thrilled to see them. I haven't heard much other than what they play on the radio, but it's cool stuff!

    I just got "Oracular Spectacular" and I love it. I'll be seeing them in Phoenix on Thursday, and probably again at Coachella. WOOHOO for these guys.

    I was blown away by the two songs I saw live at the Fun Fun Fun Fest a few months back, hoping to check them out for a full set.

    They opened for Of Montreal in UCSD, fantastic.

    IMO, was more enjoyable than Kevin Barnes.

    MGMT are awesome! Especially live. I caught their show opening for The Fiery Furnaces at The Music Hall of Williamsburg and they were excellent.

    Here's a review of their album:

    Was just introduced to these guys a week or two ago, and am loving them. Definitely one of my most anticipated small-print names on the poster.

    I checked them out today after seeing they are gonna be at Coachella. Does anyone else think they sound ALOT like the Scissor Sisters? I had to go look it up and make sure Jake Shears wasn't their lead singer, cause they sound very similar.
