Any fans on here? I've never seen them but have listened to them quite a bit online over the last year. Really like their stuff.
Has anyone seen them live before?

I did. They are just okay.
Devotchka, I saw them at ACL 07, in first row!
They were great, I was expecting more but it was a pretty good show.
Full of energy!
Eventhough they have awesome cds, set list was incomplete.
I ll be there again!
can someone recommend an album/songs to check out?
eh... i'll pass...
Aren't they kind of punk?
How It Ends is going to be the most beautiful song heard on the polo fields this year.
I saw them at the Troubadour and they were a lot of fun. I'm not sure how they would translate to an outdoor festival performance.
i've seen them three times. they were great each time. they're not punk, they fuse mariachi and like...well just different types of music together to form this unique sound...they're so good. i recommend "How It Ends", because it has more mainstream sounding tunes than my favorite, "Una Volta", which is noisier and not as easy to listen when you first hear it. great band, i'm so excited to see them again! = )
Add Dearly Departed to that list, that song is fucking beautiful. Get "How It Ends" if you want a more indie rock oriented album with some mariachi elements and get any of their previous albums if you want the straight mariachi stuff.
I love Devotchka. Their day of the halloween shows are always amazing
i've been a fan for a while. pick up the "curse your little heart" ep, its only like 8 bucks. great 6 song sampler, they do a great cover of venus in furs by velvet underground
Their show at ACL was pretty good. I'd watch them.
I've seen Devotchka twice...once was at Bumbershoot in Seattle which was outdoors...and both times they were absolutely amazing! I couldn't even listen to the radio on the way home after hearing them perform...nothing else even sounds like music after that!
Saw them at Avalon and it was awesome. great live show and energy complete w/ cirque de soleil type acrobatics through the air. def a vagabond circus type atmosphere. Their cover of "Venus in Furs" is AMAZING.
Here's a short vid i took of them at Swervefest performing Venus in Furs...

Ok just checked out some of their songs on Napster. They must not be missed. "Enemy Guns", "26 Temptations, "Such a lovely thing"mbs up: Could see some of these songs being in a Tarantino movie. Live, I'm sure they'll provide a great atmosphere in the desert!
I'm just familiar with them from the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack. Is there anything else worth checking out?
"How It Ends" album and
the track "Such a lovely thing" from the Live at Austin City Limits Festival 2007

Uh, DeVotChKa is wonderful. Don't know what's with the bagging on them. "You Love Me" is a great, great song.
