I'm home. I'm tired. I have to get up for work in 6 hours but such is life. Great weekend. The Lips were amazing, R.E.M. rocked and The Cure, were the Cure. The National got delayed at the border and weren't able to play the main stage but played the Yeti stage at Sunset and it was pretty fucking great. They played over and hour and got called back out for an encore. REM played about 2 hours, the Cure over 2 1/2 and the lips like 1 hour and40 mins? I loved the lips set, it was pretty amazing stuff with streamers, naked dancing chicks, Coyne coming out of the bubble atop the UFO and rolling into the crowd tons of telle tubbies and other crazy costumes on stage, lots of confetti. The led zeppelin cover was awesome.

I just wanted them to play longer. Kick ass weekend. Sunday's lineup seemed a bit light.

Rodrigo Y Gabrelle were fucking great too, lots of good stuff. I don't get Flight of the Conchords and it annoys me for some reason that they are so popular. That set was mindnumbing. I'm not sure how it went over but I saw some people laughing their asses off.

It was awesome running into fellow boardies.

Finally made it back home. Awesome times with chia, fax and invisible! If I do go to sasquatch again (make that when!), I'll be staying at wildhorse again - great place to camp at a great price.

    top 5:
    flips
    the cure
    crudo
    michael franti
    rodrigo y gabriela

honerable mentions: beirut,(edit. dang, I forgot about 65daysofstatic. great set!)

I took lots of pics and video and will be uploading some starting tomorrow. I got the entire flaming lips set, and a good portion of most acts that I saw. I had plans to record the entire cure set (I brought in 10gb of memory!) but my camera's battery died.

i am uploading the last couple of minutes of the cover of "The Song Remains the Same" as i type. Since i don't see any on youtube i expect it to be taken down at some point. The Flaming Lips put on one of the best shows period. This is the best time i've seen them. Expect the clip here in about 30 minutes.

Passive, you really should have - it ended up being a great weekend. Definitely consider it next year if the lineup is to your liking.

As mentioned, fax, kings, and I stayed offsite at Wildhorse Campgrounds:
    http://www.wildhorsecampground.com/

I really liked it. The people who ran the place were very friendly, nice people. The grounds were very clean, incredibly soft dense grass, port-a-potties stayed clean and non-stinky throughout the weekend, hot showers. (Though they had only 4 showers for the campground so there was a bit of a line - they are looking at adding more for next season). Allow in/outs, contained BBQing, alcohol, music. They had a volleyball game going on Sunday and people doing yoga and such all weekend. Shuttle going back and forth to the Gorge, was very quick (we had our own lane so didn't get stuck in traffic), ran frequently during peak times. There was a little kitchen onsite which by all accounts cooked up good food (I wish I'd tried it - next time).

It was totally different than my coachella camping experiences (and I bet than the 'main' sasquatch campground). They had a noise/music curfew, and while plenty of people stayed up to hang out, there was really no noise at night and it was easy to sleep.

I really liked it and would definitely camp there again.

As for the festival... I was impressed. The area was beautiful, and while I wasn't overwhelmed by the number of great bands (like I am with Coachella), there was always something to listen to and it was just a nice mellow weekend. I don't know that I would go back every single year, but definitely would again if there was a lineup I liked.

I'm not sure what my top 5 would be... I guess off the top of my head:
    Flaming Lips
    The Cure
    The National
    65daysofstatic
    Crudo

Biggest surprises... 65daysofstatic, caught a few minutes of Kinski which sounded really good. Was very pleased at the National's misfortune of missing their original set at the main stage and playing at the Yeti

    Thumbs up Re: Sasquatch

Got home after 15 hours of driving south through some of the worst driving conditions ever in Oregon! Anyways, the trip was totally worth it!

I camped all three days, but only went on Monday (had to sell my other two tickets because I realized I had run out of money).

Flaming Lips were indeed probably the best show I have ever been to (IMO blew Roger Waters at Coachella out of the water, but that's just me).

The campgrounds were where the party was at all weekend. Since I only went Monday I was afraid there would be nothing to do, but there were people raging all weekend long.. It was a bit hard to sleep, but totally awesome. I met so many awesome people from all over the world.. Truly a great experience.. Keep the videos coming people!

the presidents were good. I had low expectations going in, but I really liked them. The new songs were really good too. it's just a shame my camera died during their set so I only got a couple pics and no videos.

That is clean. i need to try capturing stills from video. i did more video than usual due to being in relax and chill mode (it was sweet napping on the grassy slope). i did a time lapse for a half hour during Death Cab from close to the top that i want to throw up next.

Still, my picture taking problem persists and on a restful trip took about 900+. i'll try to put together a top 30 or 50.

I keep forgetting how much I enjoyed The Hives. They are fucking professionals! Loved their set as well as Rodrigo y Gabriella.

Sunday sucked save Michael Franti, Presidents and 65 days of static. I think Saturday was the best day from start to finish and Sunday was really fucking solid. Cut it two days next year and eliminate 3/4th of the Pacific NW acts.

MIA sucks. I really don't get it but then again I don't get lots of things like Flight of the Concords either. So, i'm sticking to it. MIA and FOTC both such ass.
