The line up so far is pretty underwhelming... but I already sold my Cure in Vancouver tickets. So I might as well go to Sasquatch.

I've never been there for a show. I've been to Slane Castle which is stunning so hopefully this is good too. At this point, I don't even know who is playing support.

And how is the onsite camping?

Also, why did they move it from 3 days to 2?

I liked the idea of having one day where a bunch of bands played with no conflict.

It usually has three stages (a few years it was just two stages), Mainstage, Wookie and Yeti. Wookie has up and coming national bands and Yeti is local. They have changed at least one thing each year though so who knows.... It was two days last year, three the year before that and every other year it was just one day. I would guess it will only be two this year. There is onsite camping, last year it was $40/night. Check it out!

I've been to Bonnaroo the past three years, but I'm thinking about trying another festival this year and had Sasquatch in mind. Can anyone tell me about the atmosphere or "experience" of the festival? For example, at roo there's always something going on besides the music. There's a Brewery tent, there are non-corporate vendors selling or showcasing art, clothes, jewelry, instruments or activist groups. Anything going on at night? All input is greatly appreciated.

The 3day ('06) was to accommodate NIN on the Friday who were on tour and had a date in Portland on the Sat/Sun (don't remember which).

I like the camping there but it is basic. You pitch your tent beside your car which is great. Bring as much booze as you like to the campground.

Besides the amazing view there are different vendors who sponsor Sasquatch!, last year there was some storytelling and wrestlers and MCs (comedians) for each stage, other than that subpar drinks and food abound. I usually just watch the bands, I feel like the organizers always pick such great bands that I never want to go do anything else, but a brewery tent sounds cool! It would nice to have some of our local microbrews out there! Bonnaroo sounds more like Bumbershoot.

Atmosphere is pretty great actually - everyone is usually just happy to be there, and I have always had good experiences with meeting strangers there. There are a few other things going on (the mexican wrestling last year was somewhat amusing), but it isn't really the point of the festival. It isn't as big as Bonaroo or Coachella.

Besides the acts of god (Wind, Hail, HEAT), the only thing that I don't like (or "get") is that the organizers sometimes put the really amazing bands on the side stage in order to give some shitty corporate neu-soul act on the mainstage (See: Citizen Cope on the Mainstage vs. Grizzly Bear on the Wookie last year, or making everyone sit through Ben Harper in '06). I guess that is how it goes.

Grizzly Bear fucking owned, and then you go back to this white dude playing the worst fucking abomination I have ever heard. Terrible.

The only thing that blows me away on that lineup is 65 Days of Static and Gang of Four, otherwise not that great.

In other news... the new Sasquatch site is up. The new Sasquatch is up on the site too. He's driving a car. The Sasquatch doesn't look very... well, much like a Sasquatch though. Oh well. You can see the new website here.

Does anyone remember when the new site went up last year? The line up was anounced the 19th last year, but was the new site up this early last year? I think we may be getting the Sasquatch line up tomorrow...
