I hope to make my way up north this summer and would loooove to attend sasquatch. Coachella is not happening for me this year unfortunately
Trust me. the best part of the Sasquatch lineup this year are the bands already announced. Except one other who ive seen too many times. Sorry. I posted a thread about radiohead not playing already
consequence of sound ( http://consequenceofsound.com/summer-festival-outlook/ ) has 65 Days of Static, The Heavenly States, Fleet Foxes, and of course, The Cure listed as confirmed. Gang of Four is listed there as rumoured but it seems most thing they will be there. According to a topic in another section of the boards, Death Cab for Cutie will be making yet another appearance at Sasquatch this year. Of course why would they not? They're a northwest band.
What's not confirmed but seems to be the going consensus is that R.E.M. is the Saturday headliner.
One thing that's bothered me about Sasquatch is that there's nowhere (that I know of) to discuss the festival other than other festival's message boards or artists' boards. You can't even make comments at their myspace.

I'm going to Sasquatch this year. I'll be broke but there's no way the line up can be anything but better so it'll be cool
ok, couple Q's
does sasquatch offer camping?
and
when in the lineup announced?

Lineup is usually announced mid-February. Around the 19th or 20th.
i wholeheartidly (sp) agree about the camping, thats why i ask, if sasquatch didnt offer it, i wouldnt consider it

Upcoming Shows:

Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
my birthday present to myself is a sasquatch ticket....weeeee
Oh yeah one other thing to know about Sasquatch is the crazy swings in weather. The end of May is like some weird transition time for the weather there so one minute you'll be dying of heat in sun and by nightfall you'll be freezing your ass off. Add in a freak hail or wind storm and things can get weird. I always bring a pair of jeans and a hoodie into the venue in anticipation of the temperature change.
I was forced to miss Ben Harper and The Flaming Lips 2 years ago because I was so cold after the hail storm. Last year the wind storm blew a couple tents into my brand new car and scratched my paint. It also destroyed a gazebo shelter we had bought specifically for Sasquatch camping.
Man this is the worst... suspense is killing me and there is barely any solid info out there.
So far confirmed:
The Cure
Heavenly States
Fleet Foxes
65 Days of Static
and maybe Gang of Four (but probably not)
And from this board, it is looking like
REM
Death Cab?
Anyone got any others?
Gang of Four confirmed on this website sort of. just scroll down to the pic of them lookn all old

I was expecting Modest Mouse this year. However, my main question... can we expect to see The Mars Volta, Queens of The Stone Age and/or Franz Ferdinand there? Any of those 3 would pretty much lock me. Especialy if TMV or QOTSA were there. Franz and Modest Mouse would just be a bonus.
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
Sweet, thanks Pandaroo - I live in a part of Canada where we get shows few and far between, so there are lots of bands who have been on my list for years. Sasquatch is just close enough that it is a full day's drive (as opposed to two for Coachella) and I get to see lots of bands I otherwise wouldn't.
Take Modest Mouse - not really a huge fan, but I like stuff here and there. Tried to see them last fall but it sold out in like 20 minutes or something and I missed the boat (har).
Sasquatch is always enough, and you can't beat the setting. That said, my friends and I are sick of the Road Warrior-like Camping experience (the first night last year was particularly bad, akin to every post-apocalyptic nightmare scenario - "I got a good idea - I am going to yell 'wooooooooooooooooooo' for the entire night until I pass out'). This year, we pooled our money and are renting the biggest RV on the lot to go down in style (private showering + noise dampening = bliss)
If you are going to Sasquatch, pony up for the "Premiere" camping, as you get a bus ride to the grounds and let in 15 minutes before the huddled masses (so then you can claim the primo rock-ledge spots), exclusive "showers" (ha!) and a big-breakfast thing. Also, your shit is being guarded by security guards.
Oh to be in a place where I could be so flippant in my "yawns."![]()
