Thumbs Up... I Like It!
Thumbs Down... I Don't Like It!
a recent poll shows that Coachella can't locate a good headliner on the friday!
It has to be a JJ hate thread because it poisons the entire 3 days. I won'y spite myself by skipping 3 days of great bands, but there needs to be an organized boycott of the main stage on Friday. The only way Golden Voice will get the message never to repeat this anal rape of their loyalists is to have 2000 people sitting on their asses for JJ.
Portishead is the best of the three headliners i think. Im surprised they didnt go for Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, White Stripes, The Cure, or David Bowie for this year.
This line up is honestly the worst I've ever seen. If My Bloody Valentine plays... my opinion may possibly change..
the more i look at this lineup the more i love it. It's on par with last year & better than 2006.
Worst Coachella EVER!! Except for Portishead, Death Cab, Porter, The Verve, Raconteurs, Mum, 120 days and Cafe Tacvba.
tHUMBS WAY UP FOR PORTISHEAD AND wATERS BUT WAY WAY WAY DOWN FOR RISING PRICES AND SHITTY PRE SALE AND FEES AND LINE UP WHO THE FUCK IS JACK JOHNSON? AND 80% OF LINE UP
WOW, I really hope none of you show up and alot more people feel the same. It'd be nice to have 10,000 less people per day this year. stay home and watch MTV while i have a blast in the desert grooving out to some great tunes.
Who the F*** is Jack Johnson?
Jack Johnson-don't even know what to say about that one
Portishead-Incredible....not necessarily sure if they should be a headliner, but still gets thumbs up
Roger Waters-seen him several times recently, so not ecstatic about seeing him again, but no way to gives thumbs down to such a genius....plus, closing out the fest??? hard to beat
there used to be an average of 20 to 25 bands in each day that i wanted to see performing from the past coachella lineups, this year i can count about 30 in all three days.. that's kinda sad.
I love music, and I hate vowels.
The Coachella experience is always great no matter who plays...as long as you stay hydrated
I think that Portishead will be a good experience as well as Roger Waters. I
I'm excited to see Portishead. Indifferent about Roger Waters (why not Led Leppelin?). I like Jack Johnson, but only when I'm on the beach or out on the boat. He is not a Coachella headliner. I'll probably check out the Raconteurs instead of him.
I also would like to see more of a hip hop selection... One Be Lo, Blackalicious, Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys. And please bring back Gotan Project! That was an incredible show last year.
Friday night will probably be a early night for us...unless something amazing is happening in one of the tents....beat the crowds to the cars while JJ plays his crap on stage...
In the future there will be three kids having a conversation about their grandparents. One kid will say, "my grandfather saw Jack Johnson in concert", and everyone will laugh at that little boy.... another will say, "My grandfather saw Portishead in concert", and everyone will say, "Who?"
And the third kid will say, "My grandfather saw Roger Waters in concert", and the look on everyone's face will make that little kid proud to be of your lineage.
Ok so we all love Radiohead, Chili Peppers and the million other bands that could've played at Coachella...but we could see these bands anyway, they go on tour all the time....
Yah coachella could've brought us the same old stuff...but they decided to give us two amazing opportunities to see bands that rarely play anymore...in the most incredible venue. None of other musical festivals could've gotten these unique bands...
When was the last time you ever had an opportunity to see Portishead live... And Dark Side of the Moon is going to be unbelievable... Desert Sky, mountains in background, insane light and special effect show. I think Coachella wanted to give us something truly unique and different this year.
Yah I wanted some other bands too, but I have a feeling this might be the best Coachella yet....
